  1. Dawson is definitely iffy. People say "if he hadn't ruined his knees on the astroturf...." but guess what, he did. You can't "what if" everyone with a questionable resume. Dawson is a career .323 OBP and .805 OPS (119 OPS+). His numbers are almost entirely SLG driven (his OBP in his MVP year was .328). I dunno, I'm not sold
  2. revenue be damned...don't use the field for anything but baseball. Beaver Stadium is used for exactly 8 football games per year and nothing else, and as such, has one of the nicest natural surface fields in the country. Heinz Field (in Pittsburgh) hosts Steelers, Panthers and about a brazillion high school games during football season, plus some concerts and other events, and is probably the worst natural field surface in the country. Coincidence?
  3. I don't know if that's going to be true. On the old forum software, regular users only saw 15 posts per page. Premium users saw more (was it 20 or 25?). Now, everybody is going to see at least 25 per page, as that is the standard length for this version of the software. On the old regular forum, this thread would have been 151 pages long already. don't dash my dreams!
  4. you are in the minority btw, my "worst Dem over best Rep" was sorta joking. sorta.
  5. i can't wait until Premium is turned back on so this thread can go back down to 60 pages
  6. Can they take the 7th inning stretch with them to the UC?
  7. Jim Rice's career OPS is 20 points lower than Ellis Burks
  8. not to mention the abysmal track record of college coaches going pro
  9. I know you say this in jest (sort of), and 6 years ago I would have just laughed. But we must have a philosophical change in our government soon or we're all in deep doo-doo. agreed, but i'll take Clinton's "status quo" over Romney's
  10. The worst democrat is still better than the best republican ;)
  11. that's what they said about Ohio State last off season
  12. blyleven robbed again
  13. I am going to predict Penn State to go 8-4 every year until they prove otherwise.
  14. dude, vance, enough. we don't care

  16. how is this hit not a personal foul? since when can you leave your feet to tackle the QB?
  17. Post of the day! you guys watch commercials? your remotes broken?
  18. I hope the NCAA is thrilled that it got 0% of the BCS games right this year.
  19. doing well at scoring and rebounding probably gives him a better chance than someone who does neither also, Cornely isn't in mock drafts because he's a junior, so stop telling me he won't be drafted
  20. i wouldn't say that they'll both be drafted. one mock draft i saw (just the first one i found on google) has claxton in the second round and cornley undrafted. nba draft is only two rounds, and that includes four classes of college players along with foreign players. i do think that they'll both get invited to camps at the very least. neither guy is gonna be a real good scorer, but if they dedicate themselves to rebounding and defense, they can make a niche for themselves in the league. cornley's negative is his height (he's a forward and only 6'5") but he does have a wide body. cornely is only a junior. i doubt he goes pro this year. he's also recovering from an injury Claxton is currently second in the Big 10 in scoring (behind Gordon) and rebounding (behind White). Cornley has a better body and could be dominating next year. He was also Freshman of the Year two seasons ago
  21. i love how fans of a team that sucks so bad right now are still so self righteous. no wonder everyone hates Illini Nation
  22. So therefore, beckpeddaled :D Ok Im done i think Penn State just got another offensive rebound I think Illinois just got another star recruit for 09-10 hope you're patient and isn't Bruce Weber the worst recruiter in history? I think I read that somewhere He woke up, and is a Penn State basketball fan really talking about recruiting? Who is Penn States biggest recruit in basketball, John Amechi? Lol i'm just talking about the thread that either you or your Illini Nation bretheren continuously post in. btw, how many future NBA players are on the Illini right now? I count two on PSU Well if you really think you have two then so do we. DMac and Legion. Two on Penn Sttae. Good one. guess you don't follow big ten basketball much. Jamelle Cornley and Geary Claxton will both be drafted. they may not stick, but they'll be drafted. Cornley has a better chance of sticking
