  1. jersey, i know that in general, the Cubs suck at getting on base. but it also seems epidemic in many of their losses to continually to get a baaserunner on every inning and not score. they seem to either score in bunches or not at all
  2. I wouldn't go that far, yet. Well, they are. I've been saying that for awhile. They have an awesome leadoff man that should have a .400 OBP, 30 SB and 15-20 HRs at the end of the year. They have two hitters that will hit 40-50 HRs this year at 3 and 4. They have Corey Hart who will probably be a 20-20 guy with good OBP. Their only weak spot on offense is catcher, and Kendall looks comfortable hitting behind the pitcher. As far as their pitching, ours might be slightly better right now, but their ceiling is much higher. I'd take Sheets, Gallardo, Suppan, Parra, Villenueva over our mess any day. Sheets and Z are about even. Sheets is probably better when healthy, Z tends to be erratic. Our bullpen is better, but not by as much as last yaer, and their defense is better by moving Braun to LF. Not on par with ours, but again not a huge disparity as last year. Oh and in 23 games, they will get a very good 30 HR potential hitter back into their lineup. Injuries are the only things that will slow Milwaukee down this year. if Rickie Weeks ends up with a .400 OBP i'll stop watching baseball
  3. That is very definitely not "typical Cubs". sure it is. it happened all the time last year. runners on but never driving them in. now Wuertz is sucking too. SWEET
  4. Tigers 0-2, they're totally screwed too
  5. typical Cubs: get a baserunner on every inning but score just 1 run
  6. The Cubs didn't care until the rooftop owners began meddling and held up the building permit when they first started planning the bleacher expansion, as they were afraid the expansion would interfere with their views, and hence, their profits. The rooftop owners brought it on themselves. Exactly. Also, while thats the rooftop owner's property, Wrigley and what goes on inside it belongs to the Cubs and they have every right to block that view if they want to (barring any crazy Chicago zoning laws that I don't know about). It's like complaining about me putting up curtains in my house because I don't want nosy neighbors looking in. Yeah, I agree. The Cubs absolutely have the right to modify their property to block a view. However, if the Cubs choose NOT to block the view then the neighbors are still entitled to enjoy the view from the property as they see fit. Unless there is an agreement in place that they would pay. Depends on the legal status of the agreement. Was it just a handshake deal, or was there a legally binding contract? If so, were there penalties stipulated in the event of a breach of the terms? If it was only a handshake deal then people are entitled to reconsider it. i highly doubt it was a handshake deal, not after all the grief the HOA gave them about the bleacher expansion
