  1. Lack of depth once again. Why the hell won't K play Mason Plumlee? Im not as upset with Plumlee as I am with some of the other players. Elliot Williams is maybe our best perimeter defender and he cannot find his way onto the court. Nolan Smith has gotten benched which is a shame in my opinion. Greg Paulus is just an awful on-ball defender and it showed in the last two games. Lawson and Rice both lit Paulus up. Smith would not have given up so many points to both players. Also, we need some minutes from either Zoubek or Plumlee. I love Lance Thomas but he is not good enough to be our only center. I do not think it is a coincidence that our skid started as Smith played less and Paulus played more.
  2. what has happened to this team?
  3. I'd be ecstatic if we got a 4th round pick for him.
  4. exactly. hansbrough is just not that good. however, i cannot wait to see Lawson leave.
  5. If Ryan Kelly makes the AA game, I will puke.
  6. Ryan Theriot cannot possibly be on a fantasy team in 2001
  7. that was not a hit
  8. I saw that John Wall story in the News & Observer and it basically crushed my hopes of Duke being able to nab him.
  9. Jack McClinton is kinda really good.
  10. god, duke loses in the last second carolina wins in the final second. puke.
  11. why in the world are we wasting a scholarship on Ryan Kelly next year?
  12. Ok, so Louisville has one good win on the road (Villanova, #25 in Pomeroy) and Duke has one good win on the road (Purdue #16 in Pomeroy). They both have pretty good wins at home or neutral. I'll make my cutoff the top 40 teams in Pomeroy's ratings. The cutoff is just random. Louisville has beaten Pitt (#3) Kentucky (#20) UAB (#40) Duke has beaten Georgetown (#9) Xavier (#15) Davidson (#36) Duke has 6 other wins in the top 100. Louisville has 2 other wins in the top 100. Louisville lost to Minnesota on a neutral court. Duke lost to Michigan in Ann Arbor. Through all of that, it is pretty close. But, you would be hard pressed to say Louisville has a better resume. THEN, we add in Louisville's horrible loss to a terrible Western Kentucky team and to UNLV at home.
  13. ive cut it really close today. first i got a win in a womens tennis match that went to 8-6 in the third set. then i got a one point victory in wichita state.
  14. i meant in the prestige rankings. i doubt we got that high in the actual recruting
  15. Duke is so much better than I expected
  16. duke @ 38. enough said.
  17. This bothers me. The reason they don't have the luxury to run Pie out there to see if he can hit is because they blew it last year. They had that luxury for the first half of 2008 when the rest of the offense of rolling. They had a great oppurtunity to keep running Felix out there to see if he'd adjust and they didn't do it. On top of that, Hendry's statement hear still doesn't explain why Gathright is considered a better option than Pie as a backup. Once you factor in cost, age, and potential it's a no-brainer Pie is the better option. The only possible explination is that Hendry thinks he can get something of value by trading Pie, which I doubt. Another way to look at it is that Pie and Gathright might give similar production this year. Trading Pie gives us Gathright + Olson instead of Pie. Even if Pie makes a step foward this year, Gathright + Olson probably is more valuable to us.
  18. Dallas, Atlanta, San Diego. Atlanta?
  19. I like this trade, we were not going to get anything else for him after spring training. Hopefully, Olson can develop. There has been complaining about getting more pitching, but we really needed starting depth at the major league level. Samardzija and Gaudin aren't good as the only options when Harden/Zambrano/Dempster/Marshall goes down.
  20. Gerald Henderson has really turned it on lately. He carried our offense in the last two games and again today. He had 17 first half points and ended with 23. We were already very good when he wasn't playing well. I never imagined we would be this good, this year.
