Jimmy Dykes is just awful. He called the Duke/Virginia Tech game last week. He said over 40 times that the way to stop Gerald Henderson was to stop his baseline drive.

Ok, I was planning on using this pick to shore up the offensive line or maybe the defensive line (DE or DT). However, free agency changed these plans a lot. We lost two of our starting three linebackers from last year and a starting safety without replacing them. I think that a safety can still be found in free agency or later in the draft, so linebacker is the pick here. With the 24th pick the Atlanta Falcons select Clint Sintim OLB Virginia. There is no way the falcons would be able to justify taking a TE in the first round.

So why continue to subject yourself to "this place?" Pretty much all you've done since joining is pick fights, insult other posters and complan about how stupid everyone is and how awful this board is. Do yourself a favor. exhibit b. actually i haven't done any of that. at all. that's pretty offensive for you to say when it's completely untrue. i like this board. it's educational and a good place to talk baseball. but posts like the one i replied to bring it down so much, and unfortunately posts like that aren't exactly uncommon here. Do you need me to tell you why this is a stupid response, or can you work it out on your own?

When we do these Team A/Team B comparisons, can we add in offensive and defensive efficiency or at least Pomeroy's rankings.

Dang, I was hoping he'd fall to the Titans at 30. He and Haye would have been nice replacements for Albert. I was probably going to take him with the Falcons pick.

The commentator was screaming for a 5-second call the entire time as well. Scheyer was blatantly fouled well before he traveled. On this play, two wrongs make a right. If that's a "blatant" foul, then Tyler Hansbrough should go to the free throw line about 10 times more than he already does, and the entire opposing team would foul out in the first half. And you don't want that. Plus, it would be FOUR wrongs, not two (one for the "foul," three for the travels). Yes, Tyler Hansbrough should go to the line 10 more times a game than his ACC-leading pace. :roll:

Yes, that was a travel. But come on, the defenders took at least a second to get to Scheyer which means it was not a five-second call.

Pretty disappointing off-season so far in Atlanta. We cut Lawyer Milloy and let our top three free agents all leave (Dominique Foxworth, Michael Boley, and Keith Brooking). I am really sad to see Foxworth go as he had blossomed in 2008 into a very good corner. I wish we had re-signed one of the linebackers. We have only one starting-caliber LB under contract now. However, Boley and Brooking were both much worse last year than before. Brooking was pretty clearly on the downside of his career. I can't bring myself to be that upset with the loss of Milloy, though. We have return 5 starters from a mediocre defense from last year. We will focus completely on defense this draft. I have faith in Dimitroff to bring in good under-valued players after what he did with the offense last year.

Gerald Henderson and Elliot Williams are pretty much my favorite athletes (and Soto). I also hate Greg Paulus like the rest of the country. He is horrible.
