I love the part about Marquis having a family to worry about. Does that change depending on if he is a starter or reliever? -
Because there is such a thing as minor league fillers. Every MLB team has guys like this bouncing around AAA. They are necessary. Who cares? It is the 2nd ST game of the year, none of this really matters.

I really didn't think there was much contact on that play. White just stood with his arms straight up and the NW player double clutched. With all the crap those kids have been through lately I'll take a 3 point win.

I thought I read two stories recently that the retracted name was DeAndre Thomas. Haven't heard anything, besides Bayless, say this.

Looks like Sampson is out, not surprising. The Rivals site lists the following three as the top candidates. Tony Bennett WSU Brad Brownell Wright St Sean Miller Xavier A lot of IU fans have an obsession w/ Brownell. He's from Indiana and had good success at UNC-Wilmington and Wright St. I think he'd have to be very impressive to hire though since hiring a coach from smaller schools such as those would raise some eyebrows. it worked for Bo Ryan and UW though.

Regardless of Sampson and his situation, IU has looked very good lately.

Erin Andrews is obviously an attractive woman, but she gets overhyped a ton.

What is it bad to do that after your other great player got hurt in the same game? Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but the game was well in hand for IU throughout the later stages of the 2nd half. Sampson lacks class, he is gonna run it up on MSU. 6 days till the conference is rid of that clown. The college basketball world can only hope. They have to get rid of him, it would be a pr nightmare if they don't. I agree with Bilas and others, I think it is a done deal nad Sampson knows it. The 7-day thing is just to make sure if they fire him they are not on the hook for the rest of the cash he is owed.

Hell of a performance by IU tonight considering teh circumstances. They better hope D.J. isn't hurt too seriously. This will definitely be an interesting week. I wonder what the resident Illinois fans feel about an IU coaching change. Obviously the feelings towards Sampson are negative, but I wonder if they would almost rather him be there than get someone else.

Did I pick the right week to be secluded or what? I was asked by my school to help out with the annual senior class retreat (private catholic school). So I was cut off from the outside world for 4 full days, was kind of nice actually. I missed the IU crapstorm. Sampson is as good as gone. I wonder who the next coach will be. Has there been any speculation yet?

So when is the IU apology coming for their fan behavior? Im sure they plan on issuing it soon For what? The Uconn game? If so, it has already been done. Several of the players did some PSA's that they played on the video board during the game. What does it matter anyway? IU didn't make them issue a statement. How about for mister attention whore and his salute to the Illini fans? Class pure class You don't issue an apology for one fan flipping the bird after being heckled all game. If that were the case, you would have A.D.'s issuing apologies after every Big Ten road game. Come on. Gordon Sr. is probably an attention whore, but if he and his family actually was hit by beads, it's not stunning that he would have something to say on his way out. For the record I don't think anything I actually saw was out of line. I'm just saying that when everyone in college basketball outside of your fans is blasting you today, it's probably not the right time to complain about class from others. For all of the Indiana people that were outraged by it, do you remember what you did to Luke Recker when he came back to Assembly Hall 5 years ago? He got the same treatment as Gordon, maybe worse. I agree with all of that. I was in attendance for the Recker game, it was very bad.
