  1. Theriot is looking very relaxed at the plate.
  2. Man that is good to see. Soriano staying within himself and getting the 2-run single.
  3. I'm surprised Peavy threw anything close to Johnson with Lilly on deck.
  4. That pitch was better than the strike 2 pitch.
  5. Our best shortstop setting cost us right there. Cedeno would have been playing in the same position Theriot was. He doesn't get to that ball either even with the advantage in range.
  6. Hell of a throw. I would have sent him as well.
  7. I used to love days like Soriano is having. Haven't hit the ball hard at all yet has two hits. They all even out.
  8. It makes sense to me that he'd be considered one of the best by the people who agree with his methods, while people with opposite viewpoints would not hold him in high esteem. You've lost me.... are yo saying you agree/disagree with his methods? Do you know his methods? What he's saying is, is that people who agree with his methods will hold him in high regard. People who don't agree with his methods don't hold him in high regard. I don't think goony has an opinion one way or the other. Gotcha.

  10. Jeremiah Rivers, the son of Doc Rivers, is transfering to IU from Georgetown. He doesn't look like much of an offensive player but he is supposed to be very good defensively. Maybe somebody that sees more Big East than I do could elaborate further.
  11. The Cubs have one of the best mnor league pitching coordinators in the game, Mark Riggins. I'm not buying what the opposing scout supposedly said. Any team would be interested in picking a guy like Pawelek up, there is no risk invovled.
  12. Who the hell is Verdell Jones? Why is a kid from Champaign, Illinois committing to IU? Is he just not very good?
  13. He's always thrown hard and had the arm, just not the location.
  14. 95 MPH on that last pitch. My right elbow still hurts from taking one of his 95+ FB in college.
  15. Joe Morgan: "Wellemeyer is not a hard thrower." Uhhhh..ok. I can personally attest to that false statement.
  16. I've got a newborn at home, so I'm a little behind on IU news, but here is what I can gather. 2 players remain from Sampsons 2008 class, those will be Matt Roth and Tom Pritchard. Crean has signed two players for next year since he took the job. Those are JUCO SG Devan Dumes and Alabama Mr. Basketball Nick Williams, also a 6-4 SG. Who knows what will happen next. He has said that he isn't going to offer someone just to fill a scholarship. he wants quality players, and if that means being short-handed next year than so be it. For 2009 he has committments from Derek Elston, Bobby Copabianco, and now Maurice Creek. Next year might be ugly, but I think he will get things in order. Just out of curiousity, what do you think?
  17. Crean actually got a pretty good commit today. 6-4 SG Maurice Creek from Connecticut. Had offers from Pitt, Georgetown, and Texas.
