  1. Seems to be a couple conflicting reports on him. Some that I have read act like his speed isn't all that superior.
  2. He has Lowrie going at 7, Hosmer at 9, Hicks at 12, Kelly at 15, Melville at 18, Collier at 24 and Hewitt at 25. In the unlikely event that Collier is on the board - if Wilken doesn't take him, I will officially start a "Fire Tim Wilken" campaign. From reading the descriptions of Collier, he sounds like a lot of guys the Cubs have drafted in the past. Toolsy, unpolished, not a speedster, average power. Why should Wilken be fired for not drafting him?

  4. But what about his potential, etc, etc? It was a claear decision then, and is now. I understand the emotional attachment to the guy, and if he would have taken an extra year to come back like Hendry wanted that would have been fine too. It was time though, take the emotion away from it and it was a very easy decision.
  5. Its a good thing they brought him up. Homer and the AAA manager are not on very good terms, barely even speaking.
  6. Hendry absolutley made the right decision in letting him go.
  7. Is this "terrible stretch singer week" at Wrigley?
  8. Wuertz did about as poorly as you can do in that situation.
  9. Thanks Edmonds Woop, the best way to score a run strikes again That is the absolute best way?
  10. I'd have taken the Fukudome DP if it meant a run Len.
  11. Fukudome is still adjusting. I think he'll be a good, not great, player. Some of the expectations for him were out of whack.
  12. striking out, popping out or grounding out: meh, it happens striking out, popping out or grounding out with runner on third and fewer than two outs: OMG unacceptable! no fundamentals! We get it... I just said it was frustrating, nothing more.
  13. Len and Bob get a lot of mileage out of the "podcast studio" gag.
  14. Gallagher needs to throw a few less strikeouts. 62 pitches through 3. Strikeouts are fascist. Get some more groundballs, they're more democratic.
  15. It is still weird for me to see Edmonds in a Cubs uniform.
  16. That is, until the camera cut to her face? Pretty much, but I don't have very high standards. She reminds me of a character from the SNL skit they used to do about a radio station.
  17. Is there anything more frustrating than not getting a run in from 3rd with less than two out?
  18. And how many games have they gained this past week? Does it really matter on June 1st? I'm glad the Cubs are playing well, but the standings don't mean all that much yet.
  19. Jay Bruce scares the holy hell out of me. Nice K! He's actually very down to earth and personable. Not really scary at all.
