  1. It's too wonderful. Sometimes it's hard for me to choose which game to watch. Yes, it's wonderful. But I've heard after the trial period it will cost an extra $30 to keep. I may have to spring for that extra $30. I thought the Strike zone channel was the only thing that would be extra. Have you tried the in-game stats and box score feature when watching a specific game yet?
  2. I loved those uniforms. Viva Fidel! Viva Cuba!
  3. He's played a little bit Yeah I know. That is why I said earlier in the thread that it is crazy to expect this guy to stick with a major league club after playing only 15 minor league games the past 3 years. And Hamilton made the roster. :-# Good for him. I just wish people would quit acting like he was ever property of the Cubs. The Reds moved up to take him in the Cubs spot. As Miles has pointed out, the Cubs had no idea who the Reds were taking. They just knew they were not going to take anybody, so it didn't hurt to trade the pick for a small amount of cash.
  4. I have MLB through DirecTV. I love the new feature they have added this year. They have a Game Mix channel which shows up to 8 games. But also, when watching an individual game, the box score is just a click on the remote away. You can also access standings, scores, and league leaders. Its pretty cool.
  5. I don't think anyone's criticizing the move, just disappointment. It's the second straight season Pawelek hasn't met preseason expectations. That was more of a pre-emptive post. Just don't want to see quotes like "What are the Cubs thinking?" Hopefully whatever issues are holding him back get worked out.
  6. I'm sure there are reasons for Pawelek not being in to rotation. They wouldn't do this for no reason, especially to a fairly recent 1st round pick. To criticize this move without knowing the full story behind it is premature. Lets just see what happens.
  7. Rosenthal reporting that the deal could be very close... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6632584
  8. Rosenthal reporting this is very close to getting done... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6632584
  9. I don't think picking the Cubs to win the division is that far-fetched. As far as playoff predictions go, it's pretty much a crapshoot so any scenario is reasonable. Agreed. But Cubs fan or not, I still don't think they have what it takes, as things stand right now, to be considered the favorite in the division.
  10. I see the Kool-Aid is flowing quite freely in this thread...
  11. You get excited for miracles huh?
  12. Insightful. Beating things to death are so much fun.
  13. Walker signed a minor league deal with Oakland.
  14. HOw many times will he make a fool out of himself in LF? Just kidding, I know Adam, he's a good guy.
  15. From a Buster Olney chat today. He was asked if Zambrano would sign an extension with the Cubs. Here was his reply: "Don't know for sure, but my educated guess is that Cubs fans could get an Opening Day surprise... an announcement that Zambrano has come to terms on a five-year deal, worth something in the range of $85 million. "
  16. Why? :?: :?: I understand Izturis has replaced DB as public enemy #1 around here, but I don't necesarilly think Cedeno is a better option. Thats all.
  17. Received tickets for the games in April. Have not received the tickets for the games in August though.
  18. I know UK is kidding... No problem. Different strokes for different folks. Doesn't matter to me that people like, or liked him.
  19. True. I used Hill as an example because he has some very high expectations based on what he did last year. I hope that is truly the pitcher he is, or he is going to disappoint a lot of people.
  20. Not to blaspheme, since most are excited about him, but what happens if he can't get the job done? His last stint with the Cubs was great, but what if that was a bit flukey? I still think the rotation could be the hole on this team.
  21. I'm gonna go with one post before you rip on him. I don't think its "ripping" at all. Look at the numbers they haven't been very good. I loved what he did for the Cubs, but that was obviously a bit of a fluke year. Everytime Bellhorn's name is brought up you take it upon yourself to try to be a killjoy(even though no one really wants him on the team anymore), and started a thread about it this time. I don't really care, we all have our favorites and anti-favorites, I just found it funny how it was pretty apparent you started the thread so you could point out how terrible he is. Yes, it is my personal goal to disparage Bellhorn. I live for it! :) I would disagree when you say "no one wants him on the team anymore", he has quite the cult following around here.
  22. Caution.."ripping" to follow... 2005: .210/.324/.357/.681 2006: .190/.285/.344/.629 Is that a guy you would really want on your team? That is what I used to back up my "he's sucked" comment.

  24. Bellhorn sucks, and has for a while now.
