  1. The Braves last 3 games are vs. the Phillies, while the Cards have 1 more with the Mets and then the Cubs and Astros. Braves better hope that the Phils can lock up the 10oth win befoe they play them and just let the kids play the last 3 games. The Brewers only have the Marlins and Pirates, but they're all away games. I doubt they have much to worry about, but I'd sure love to see them fold. As much as I don't want the Cards to get in, Cards/Brewers in the NLCS would be interesting, though I don't see the Cards taking out the Phils, and The Brewers might have trouble with the D Backs. Interesting or worst thing ever?
  2. I always loved their current logo. They should leave it.
  3. False. I wish it lasted until late March. Next week I'm going to enter a state of low level depression that will last a little over 5 months. They've tried to tell me this is Seasonal Affective Disorder..... but I know better. Go CUBS !! I'm not going to say I've watched the Cubs all season because I haven't but I have watched some and knowing that it's not going to be an option anymore for awhile makes me sad.
  4. I like their uniforms.
  5. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/cbsports-exqb-george-i-could-help-colts-20110919,0,48209.story The Colts signing Collins was funny, but probably the best move they could have made. The Colts replacing him with Jeff George would be fantastic and would basically guarantee them first dibs on Luck. I really want this to happen but no way it does.
  6. With not much else to root for at all, I'm holding out hope that the Brewers don't clinch at Wrigley. Something that will be rather tough to do after tonight. EDIT: Saw in the game thread that it can't be done at all so....cool I guess.
  7. Most of the pounding was after some injuries. It was still a 3 point game late in the 3rd quarter. I'm thinking that line might drift more in the Packers favor if the Bears injury reports are....unfavorable. Nick Collins will be out you would think for the Packers and Williams, I think is questionable although he wants to play. With those two out the Packers secondary will be weakened big time. Combine that with the Bears ability to hold the Packers offense down and with it being in Chicago I am not the most confident about this game. I don't see how it's anything but a toss up.
  8. Yeah, because posts like this aren't annoying at all.
  9. Not the best game but they still outscored them 30-6 the last three quarters. That became 30-13 after their last touch down but still, it could have been worse (although hopefully Collins is ok.)
  10. But the Chiefs already have their franchise QB. Ricky Stanzi
  11. Lovie can't challenge that from my understanding. It's on the replay official.
  12. The schedule is potentially set up for a really special season, but I don't want to get ahead of myself at this point. Western Michigan next week in a game they have to win to make this week mean anything. It looks like it could very well be between Illinois and Wisconsin for the division. Wisconsin has looked great against bad competition and Illinois has a pretty good win (they also looked good against bad competition.)
  13. cut it out with the theatrics, how on earth does Green Bay lose tomorrow? Cam Newton being a freak of nature who isn't phased by any level of football is the only way. It's hard for me to envision them losing tomorrow, but the last time I felt this was were games again Detroit and Tampa Bay, which the lost, from the last two years so who knows. It'd be a huge upset though.
  14. Great interception and great comeback by Iowa. I was at the Cubs game today instead of home watching this one (watching it now on ESPN3). It sucks to have missed it but still pretty cool to see Iowa comeback from 21 down. I didn't think they had it in them.
  15. Not sure what this was but I can't say I hated it.
  16. I wouldn't object I'd try it. If you suck and are playing a meaningless game, why not have some fun?
  17. Campana should try to steal home. Why the hell not?
  18. The Packers are overly loved by the media and have been for years so it makes sense that you wouldn't relate. It doesn't actually bother most of us, but like said above, it fills the time between games. Heres my schedule: Monday - Bitch about the game yesterday Tuesday - Bitch about the power rankings Wednesday - Discuss next weeks game Thursday - Bitch about everyone picking against the Bears Friday - Bitch about Simmons Saturday - Bitch about the Bears players that are injured and can't play Sunday - Bitch about the game as its happening. Knew that was coming but I'm an Iowa fan and they kind of compare to the Bears in seasons they are good (solid D, win ugly etc.) so they don't get the media love either so I can relate. Plus people picking the Packers mean nothing and I don't care, it doesn't mean anything to me.
  19. Why do you guys get so wrapped up in this "We aren't getting picked" stuff?
  20. ROFL...I'd really like to see this. I'd love to watch this type of football happen in big time college football or the pros. Not for my team but for someone. Maybe some team that's out of it could try it in like the last quarter of a meaningless last game of the season...lol. I'd like to see some perennial loser in college football try to go with a strategy similar to the coach's, like Eastern Michigan or something, why not? What do they have to lose. More games?
  21. ROFL...I'd really like to see this. I'd love to watch this type of football happen in big time college football or the pros. Not for my team but for someone.
  22. The Cardinals fans here seem to hate him.
  23. I have no idea, I was just curious as to how these rankings work really and was just bringing forth the question. I'm not trying to argue who is better because I don't follow recruiting. I'm just more excited that Iowa has a few players who are worth a damn now.
  24. I don't really understand the bickering over a recruit like this period, there are a lot of unknowns and I won't claim to know anything about recruiting because I really don't but don't recruiting services take things like what school recruited a players and what state they played ball in into account? I'm sure a player from Illinois would be rated higher than a player from Iowa in most cases unless they are someone like Harrison Barnes. I'm not saying this is the case, I'm just saying that maybe it's the reason Woodbury is rated lower?
  25. Yay, we have guys who can actually play basketball on our team now!!! It'd be even cooler if they won some games.
