  1. Not sure where to put this but
  2. He's gonna pitch 18 scoreless innings or something for them, isn't he
  3. I really do think Wick's spot next year is his to lose at this point. He's looked great. I've been a big fan of Mills and would like to see him enter ST with a shot at a role too. Kimbrel Wick Ryan Chatwood Mills Phelps with: Wieck, Mekkes, Maples, Norwood, Underwood, Clifton, Rea, Brooks, Steele as other realistic options (the latter few more on the fringe). Really have to pursue a contract for Will Smith or a trade for a lefty but there are some good bones there for the pen. It's not excellent but there's some decent depth. I think Webster and Rosario are gone (or at least off the 40 man roster). I forgot about Graveman but I don't think he can be counted on.
  4. We have a decent amount of middle relief option in Iowa between Underwood, Mills, Mekkes, Maples, Brooks, etc. I wonder how many get a look for a role next year with Kintzler, Cishek, Strop contracts all up. Also pointing out we're on page 69.
  5. Patterson is a lefty too. A guy who could maybe help in the pen next season?
  6. Oscar de la Cruz cleared waivers. We get to keep him for now. I'd imagine he's Rule 5 eligible.
  7. Thank god. Also says a lot about the trust in Wick. He's been really good.
  8. I've been following Gallen for a bit and he's had an incredible season. He at least should be a solid back of the pen arm, possibly a mid rotation starter. Good deal for the Dbacks, agreed.
  9. This bums me out immensely
  10. Not thrilled about giving up those guys but Lange hasn't shown anything and Richan is a few years away. Gotta do it.
  11. Ok. He's not a bad hitter and can play multiple positions and is under team control awhile. I'd argue he's more valuable than Maldonado. I'm fine with it. Hopefully this means the end of descalso.
  12. Basically the same trade. Got an unexciting middle reliever with a cheap option for the following year in exchange for a minor leaguer with a low ceiling/high floor. He'll likely replace Kintzler in next year's pen.
  13. We acquired David Phelps today for Tom Hatch. I like Hatch a lot, hoping for the best for him. Phelps on the other hand is a guy I wanted a few years ago. Stuff seems to be playing well returning from TJS.
  14. He must have missed the signs at baggage claim.
  15. Russell scratched from the lineup today. Hopefully he's boarding the ship flying into the sun.
  16. It basically cost nothing and he has held lefties to a .471 OPS this season. Sure, why not
  17. Keep him there. No, sorry, fire him into the sun. Now yes, DFA Descalso and call up Happ.
  18. Mike Trout in 14 July games thus far: 11 home runs, 23 RBI, .302/.406/.981/1.387 batting line, all with a .152 BABIP
  19. I've thought about this trade more......and I'm still annoyed we sold so low on Monty for a backup catcher we could've had for $2 million in the offseason. I'm not questioning that Maldonado fits an important need, and is good to have with Willy on the IL. And I figured we'd be trading Monty anyway. But this feels like a short-sighted overpay.
  20. Yeah wtf this trade makes no horsefeathering sense It's even more maddening when you consider THEY COULD'VE SIGNED MALDONADO IN THE OFFSEASON FOR CHEAP AND DIDN'T.
