  1. Today is the deadline for adding players to the 40 man roster to protect them from the Rule 5 draft. Who is at risk? Any other teams players of note?
  2. Yanks out here trading their top prospect for 17 starts next season
  3. This is a pointless post, and that's ME saying that. Who cares about fans' perception of the market in mid November?
  4. MORE DAVID BOTE CLONES
  5. Remember the Brian Roberts thread? And the Jake Peavy thread? Good times. Let me know when Harper is singing Go Cubs Go in a pizza joint
  6. I'd do Happ, kintzler and alzolay for Kluber. Cleveland wouldn't though. If it's Q and and someone like Lange or Abbot Id do it but again I don't think Cleveland would and idk if I'm willing to do all of that for him. Then again I wouldn't have traded Eloy for Q so what do I know
  7. Deep dish pizza isn't really pizza, regardless of who makes it. * Don't @ me * Unless Bryce Harper says it is and demands it when in order to sign with the Cubs
  8. Yeah, since they got Mallex for CF and now don't have a catcher, I wonder if we could swing some kind of Caratini and prospect for Pazos/Dee Gordon. Gordon is Juan Pierre 2.0, no horsefeathering thank you. He also makes ~$25 million the next two years Yeah but he actually plays pretty solid defense at multiple positions. I'd also assume the Mariners would pay down his salary to move him.
  9. Oh yeah. If we could’ve gotten Pazos back in it too with some other stuff going back (the always mentioned Vic, Maples, Short, etc type crowd) I definitely would’ve done it. If they were to add anyone with some velocity and the ability to pitch in the MLs next year, then this idea moves from “hmm” to something you do very quickly Agreed with you on Pazos. Liked him with the Yankees and believe he refined himself well with the Mariners. Big physical LH in the mold of Justin Wilson but better athlete and more potential for strong fastball command Yeah, since they got Mallex for CF and now don't have a catcher, I wonder if we could swing some kind of Caratini and prospect for Pazos/Dee Gordon.
  10. Well, I said a Zunino for Cron deal sounded about right for the Mariners the other day. Almost. It should be good for Zunino to get away from that organization.
  11. Trading Zunino for CJ Cron sounds like something in DiPoto's wheelhouse.
  12. That could have just been you
  13. Ok so who did Tommy La Stella grow up with?
  14. I just picked up Maples' rookie card for 5 cents so yes I want to keep him around! I'd like to see him get more of a shot but realistically he'l post a 15 K/9 and 7 BB/9 in Iowa again and will be traded at some point to someone like the Marlins who can throw him in the pen and not care that his ERA is 8.27.
  15. Was looking forward to Smyly in the pen this year, was a huge fan of the signing at the time. That said, if we can get something interesting for him in December after the Rule 5, then sure. Anyone in the Texas system of note as a reasonable target? Maybe just get Lacy back? lol
  16. Moore on a minor league deal would be ok. Remember when the Rangers wouldn't include Perez in the Garza deal?
  17. I like Cutch as a person and he's a fine player but that's a move for the sake of making a move. He doesn't add much to the offense and his defense is about on par with Shwarber's now.
  18. I'm still really into the idea of dealing Chatwood and stuff to the Yanks for Gray. Gray's numbers were great everywhere except Yankee Stadium last year and the Yanks are pretty clearly ready to move on from him. Now, whether they want Chatwood is another discussion....
  19. Met him at Phillies Spring Training this year. As short as I expected but was nice enough to say hello and sign an autograph for me.
  20. Yeah that should surprise no one. So who replaces him?
  21. I am SHOCKED that a white guy named Whit has those opinions
  22. I am not reading the whole thread bc I'm lazy but I would be in favor of bringing back Chavez and Wilson. Duensing and Kintzler and Chatwood need to be jettisoned into the sun. I liked what Mills brought and wouldn't be opposed to him being a pen option. Russell needs to go. If the Jays were able to trade Osuna, I guess we could find a taker. I can't even begin to guess on which team would be willing, though. Go get both Harper and Machado. Screw the LT.
  23. I've been wondering if they'd do this. Quite a journey he's had. Once a top 50 prospect, traded to the Red Sox as part of that insane Crawford/Gonzalez/Beckett deal. Fell apart, pitched in Korea, now pitching mostly out of relief, he's regularly in the mid-90s.
  24. Some housekeeping: Jaime Garcia added to the 40 man, Zagunis put on 60 day DL to make room. The Angels claimed Luke Farrell off waivers. We DFA'd Mazzoni and Zastryszny but they cleared waivers and were kept in the organization.
