  1. Dodgers clearly moved on to backup plans because Bryce isn't going there.
  2. I'd really have liked that but I also don't think Tulo will be 100 percent healthy ever again so
  3. In a slow offseason, potentially bad rumors from Charles are the cat's meow!
  4. I'm expecting something like 12 years, 380 mil with opt outs after seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
  5. The Indians signed Justin Grimm. Last season for him was.........grim.
  6. Apparently the White Sox won't offer Bryce or Manny more than 7 years. Cmon.....just come to the Cubs.
  7. Didn't see that one coming.
  8. Someone has to take Stroman's spot in the rotation after we trade for him.
  9. I'd be all for that trade. I keep going back to the SFG rumor. I wonder if there's a way for a three-team deal to unload Heyward and one of Kintzler/Duensing on the Giants, and Chatwood to another team, with prospects involved. Something like SF gets Heyward, Duensing, Happ, Mets prospect Cubs get Cueto/Melancon, Watson, D'Arnaud Mets get Chatwood, Kintzler, Cubs prospect I like the Kintzler for D'Arnaud deal too, but in your thhree-team deal the Mets are adding quite a bit of money and not getting much quality (depending on the Cubs prospect). Yeah I edited to add a Giants prospect to their haul. I wanted to do my own backtobanks three way trade but didn't feel like thinking too hard about it either
  10. It really is. I believe the Cubs could carry a $300 million dollar payroll if ownership allowed. I don’t mind trading weaker players, but not if they’re just dumping salary to make a one time splurge. If it’s to build the best roster $300 million can buy OTOH...oh, then they could probably handle a $350 million payroll — https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/12/3-remaining-needs-nl-east.html Who says no first in a Kintzler for D’Arnaud swap? Also, I still feel the Braves are a fit for Heyward and the Cubs can get a pitcher for him. Phillies too, but they have to lose out on Harper and Machado (which they probably will) I'd be all for that trade. I keep going back to the SFG rumor. I wonder if there's a way for a three-team deal to unload Heyward and one of Kintzler/Duensing on the Giants, and Chatwood to another team, with prospects involved. 11. I just remembered Bryce named his dog Wrigley. We have nothing to worry about.
  12. I think Tampa was pretty sure they were gonna sign him too. I wonder what they do now. On the flip side, the Twins have a sneaky good offense now, after getting him and Cron and Schoop. If they manage to piece together a passable bullpen, they have a playoff shot.
  13. Brett at Bleacher Nation gave some thoughts on all that Heyward to SF rumor nonsense and suggested something like Heyward for Cueto and Melancon, freeing up some money for Harper in the long run/giving us another SP option in 2020 after Cueto rehabs. Not great, but that's one possible way to be free of Heyward's contract.
  14. He wasn't too bad when healthy. I'm not against it if we'd use him as a Monty type guy after the All Star break/in 2020.
  15. I remember Zagurski pitching for the Dbacks and Phillies way back. He's also in my 2008 Baseball Mogul (because it was free). He's lasted a long time for someone who has barely pitched in the majors.
  16. Well, to be fair, the three players the Dodgers traded have some intrinsic value, while the players we would like to unload are extremely bad. Even if this is a salary dump, I'm surprised not to hear more substantial names other than Bailey because Puig and Wood are both very valuable players. Puig and Wood aren’t “very valuable” get the hell out of here. They’re okay players. I’d liken Puig to Zobrist and Wood to Monty in terms of trade value. They're both 3 win players. They're not "stars" but they're really solid players. Wood would be a 5 win pitcher if he was able to make 32 stars.
  17. The Dodgers are releasing Bailey. They're going into tanking mode. Bryce is all ours!
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] wow
  19. Guessing it's Puig to the Reds, giving the Dodgers money for Harper. SIGH.
  20. Can confirm it is the artist formerly known as gooney, and he is great.
