  1. It does seem almost too obvious to sign Hernandez and trade for Margot at this point. Two years, $10-12 mil seems fair for Hernandez. Then maybe one of our many lower level arms for Margot? I feel like we won't do anything until Monday though.
  2. Whatever, he's decent depth. He was pretty solid 2017-18.
  3. Pham really settled in with the Rays. Is he about go get expensive/are the Rays hoping Renfroe is a change-of-scenery candidate? Seems like an odd trade for them, though I can see why the Padres would do it. Also it just me or the Padres and Rays seem to make a trade with each other every offseason?
  4. Trading assets for Merrifield when we could just sign Hernandez would irk the hell out of me.
  5. [tweet][tweet] [/tweet][/tweet] None of these guys were top prospects and are all like a year or less removed from the draft.
  6. Oh Orioles [tweet] [/tweet]
  7. [tweet] [/tweet] A MUCH needed rotation add for the Phillies. Total gamble though. If he repeats the last two seasons then it's a solid deal. He could just as easily have his arm detach mid-pitch.
  8. Jonathan Villar on waivers
  9. Happy to have made this tweet
  10. [tweet] [/tweet] I must be missing something because he's been atrocious, a near 12 ERA last year with more walks than innings
  11. Also I liked Urias as a prospect for awhile so I'm annoyed I have to hate him now.
  12. Orioles are aggressively shopping Dylan Bundy and think a deal is close.
  13. Yeah I'm a fan of our starting depth at the moment. Any of our projected Iowa 5 could step in for a start and I wouldn't feel terrible about it.
  14. Hey remember the dark times when Trey McNutt was a top prospect for us? Well he's still pitching apparently and just signed with the Giants. [tweet]https://twitter.com/OneGun45/status/1198306257880285185[/tweet]
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] I'm a fan. He was a pretty good prospect. The depth can't hurt.
  16. Abreu staying with the White Sox, 3 years $50 mil
  17. So seems like strong odds Giambrone and Mekkes are taken right? Both would be Opening Day contributors on, like, the Orioles or Marlins or Tigers.
  18. And saying that, it certainly seems like we're making a couple minor trades in the next two weeks to lessen that 40 man crunch. So Mekkes and Giambrone or similar players on the cusp could be sent away for lottery tickets.
  19. Yeah if we don't roster Mekkes, someone like the Marlins or Orioles will definitely take him. I do believe he could be a good relief option as early as this season. And Giambrone would definitely get taken as well if he isn't rostered. Also I can see why Theo is attached to Almora, he's a cheap CF option and was also his first first rounder with us. At the same time, he cratered last year and if you wanna compete, he can't get 300 at bats next season. Best bet would be to try and find a trade partner. Send him to a bad team looking for reclamation projects/cheap starters and get a lottery ticket and some salary relief in return.
  20. No cubs rexeived any MVP votes but Kevin Pillar got one (!!!?!!!). When was the last year no Cub received a vote for any award because that's what happened this year. 2013?
