Lubanski would be nice, but I don't see him sticking on the roster all season. Pardon my ignorance, but when is the draft? Usually in December right?

They just moved their closer to starter. Howry and Eyre may be gone after this season. If Wood is gone, I would be shocked if he didn't go out and get relief help. Happy, but shocked. Eyre will probably be gone after the season, but I can see Howry getting an extension if he has another good year. I wouldn't want mroe than a two year deal for him though.

Watch Hendry come in at the last second and give him 4 yrs/ $45 mil, rather than give Wood 2 yrs/ $10 mil.

Good for him. Nice guy, would be a good story if he came back, I just don't want it to be with the Cubs.

Only 28 wasn't he? Damn shame. RIP

Wayne Krivsky and RPs = Jim Hendry and crappy middle infielders

This is one time when I want us to be outbid.

    What's the point of this?

He has the numbers, but he's never faced major league pitching. Would be worth a AAA roster spot/ occasional call-up. There are other options though,
  11. Post Count Padder
Wow. Y'know, Hendry's deals to Howry and Eyre aren't that bad anymore.

Maybe ya been too busy chasing Matsui ya dope! that's also mentioned in the article along with this nightmarish idea: Theriot in CF Ugh

    Nice job Brew Crew.

He's not even a 1st Team All Big XII WR. 125 catches and 21 TDs. Pretty impressive numbers, even for someone at a big time passing school.

    Credibilty down the drain.

I'll say it again: Michael Crabtree

FA, and they show so little interest in retaining him that they were prepared to give Torrealba and his horrid home/away splits a three year contract.
  18. Post Count Padder
I wonder if Chuck Norris/ Jack Bauer/ The A Team have reached Chicago yet and taken care of Hendry before he can make this signing.
  19. Post Count Padder
Amusingly enough, Marmol got a vote apparantly.

Whoa, didn't see that one coming.

    Deal could get done soon:

I don't think that package gets it done for Tejada and Bedard. I also don't know what we'd have the Angels would want for Santana. Also, I doubt in that scenario that Crawford would bat anywhere other than leadoff.
  24. Post Count Padder
Oh, I am so very happy. Leave it to a GM worse than ours to keep our GM from making a bad signing.

link We are listed as possible destinations for Tejada and Crawford and the packages we'd give up aren't very far fetched.
