  1. Man, I don't like being groupled together with the teenagers and young kids. When I turn 21, it will be a glorious day.
  2. Man, I'd love to get him without giving up Hill. That would be a nasty rotation 1-4. Left handed heavy, but yes, it would be dominating.
  3. I don't think this changes anything from Hendry's side. The asking price might go down slightly, though.
  4. Silva to the Mariners. I'm calling it.
  5. So how much truth is there to this? Are we serious players, or just interested?
  6. Two Big Ten QBs.... anyone know what Craig Krenzel is up to these days? According to one of my friends, if a Wisconsin QB starts an NFL game, the universe will collapse into itself. Hasn't happened yet, though.
  7. Wonderful, Bollinger in
  8. Well, the Vikes are playing like garbage, but are somehow still in it. Good job on the Bears part of containing Peterson so far. I'm surprised I haven't been hunted down and/or chastised for my Viking love on a dominantly Bears fan board.
  9. Let's go Vikings! Keep it away from Hester
  10. Padres probably ask for a little more, but that seems like a good trade. Here we are again, doing all of Hendry's work. How about changing it a little bit: Cubs get: Khalil Greene, Damaso Marte Padres get: Xavier Nady, Jack Wilson Pirates get: Chase Headley, Michael Barrett, Sean Gallagher, Ronny Cedeno, Eric Patterson The Padres are geting screwed in that deal. Giving up Greene, Headley, and Barrett for a platoon outfielder and an average shortstop? Let's add in Jack Morris to the Padres and the Pirates save a ton of money in the deal. You mean Matt Morris? And I really don't see what use the Padres would have for him with their rotation fairly set.

  12. His career stats, not including his 2007 season. Any projections for him?
  13. I found that pretty interesting. Well thank goodness we didn't sign Kaz Matsui. Looking back at this, Hendry would have unintentionally screwed us over by signing Matsui, and not because he would have sucked.
  14. This was discussed in another thread, I don't remember which. Nathan is nice, but the pen really isn't a big issue.
  15. As a blues fan I am very very happy about this trade, McDonald was not scoring that much so far this year, but neither was Boyes last year and he had turned it around. Hopefully McDonald will do the same. He scored a goal and had an assist in his first game for the blues today so he is off to a good start. I've liked McDonald ever since he was a rookie. He's a speedster who can score a lot if playing on a good line. If they team him up with former teammate and another of my favorite players, Paul Kariya, then he'll be an asset for the Blues.
  16. Which makes something like Gallagher/EPatt/Veal/mid-level prospect more of a possibility and something I could easily deal with.
  17. And Ducks lose in Niedermeyer's game back. But Devils win
  18. I'm a little late, but I'm pissed the Ducks traded Andy McDonald. He was my favorite player on that team.
  19. I should put an end to this. Wednesday night I'll close polling, making it a week. Then, I'll go with what the votes said. A tie means I'll keep my name.
  20. Yeah, the Reds are giving up a lot there. Also, in that scenario, I'd start the lineup: Roberts Fukudome Lee Ramirez Soriano Hamilton Soto DeRosa
  21. I don't think 172 ab's is enough to come to that conclusion. As for the "not enough contact, not enough walks to stay on a big league team" thing, couldn't the same be said for Soriano? Actually, no the same thing cannot be said about Soriano. Ankiel will be 28 next year and put up these numbers in a very friendly hitting environment in the PCL last year. .267 .314 .568 .882 Not bad SLG (but out of line with previous years). Nothing to get excited about either. Maybe he's a 4th OF but he'll get exposed next year, especially if he's off the juice. He'll probably still hit out quite a few homers, but yeah, I don't see him contributing much else.
