If you have a problem with it stop reading the posts then. It is blatantly obvious that Hendry indeed is a moron after he signs Neifi to a 2 year 5 mil contract. What do you want us to do hold hands and jump for joy? Always look the other way when a GM single-handely is imploding the organization? Maybe Hendry can read these posts and finally realize the idiotic moves he has been making. he's right...hendry's awesome. all those world series rings tell you all you need to know.

he's the one guy w/ a bit of a tude that the cubs weren't able to unload. once he's gone, it's going to be like a church choir in that clubhouse. next up, 115 wins. and bundles of hugs.

Thanks but now I'm confused. Hendry said that Perez and Cedeno would battle for 2nd base. Why is there no mention of Walker Bruce? I think you can guess the answer to that. They have every intention of trading Walker. if (when) walker is traded, he is going to tear the cubs a new one...you can book that. 1) he said that if the cubs were going to trade him, he'd rather they didn't pick up his option so he could choose where to play 2) he's a loudmouth 3) he no doubt (correctly) thinks it's crazy to play neifi instead of him. should make for some good quotes.

Keep in mind the first 7 pages was speculation in regards to this move. also keep in mind the hat that neifi is wearing in your sig picture. that only deserves 11 pages.

the amusing thing is that hendry said rusch offered things that not a lot of other guys could offer. pretty sure you don't have to look very hard to find a guy capable of a baa under .302 or a whip under 1.57. He offers a 1.57 WHIP and a .302 BAA for more than most pitchers in baseball. The only good that can come from this signing is my new avatar. i knew someone would jump all over that.

Definitely worth the click just to see the picture. i'd be smiling like that too (though i may not have a hat quite like that one) if i just parlayed my .290 obp into $5 mil.

hendry's plan is to try and copy what the most recent world series champs did. the red sox were perceived to have won it in '04 with comraderie and clubhouse shenanigans, so he got rid of all the bad seeds and built a team of BFF's. never mind the bosox great on base % and slugging... the white sox were perceived to have won it all in '05 with speed and defense, so he gave neifi perez the contract of a lifetime. never mind that the white sox actually hit a ton of homeruns and had a great bullpen... so yeah, that's his plan. -
exactly. he's given neifi the same $ that walker's getting. now he's going to trade walker...which means neifi will probably start and hendry's saying neifi > walker. 2.5 mil for a slick fielding, no hit backup? good lord. and i don't want to hear that guys like giles are out of the cubs' price range at $12 mil/year when hendry just pissed $5 mil down the drain to two guys that could be easily replaced at the league minimum. how about this quote? could he sound any more like an idiot?

i have no problem w/ neifi as the 25th man. problem is, dusty does. better sign nomar/furcal and keep walker or it's 500 abs of neifi in the 2 hole...getting on base 28% of the time.

yeah, but the rumors seem to point towards walker being dished off. we have a few holes to fill and FA isn't going to cover it. so we're trading walker to open up another hole?
