  1. who says i have too many brewers! i was slightly afraid of turnbow v. bonds with the tying run at the plate, however.
  2. Yeah right. Like the Cubs will have a young great lefty outfield prospect in eight years. ok, then i predict a veteran platoon of corey patterson and restovich in 2016.
  3. if it makes you feel any better he'll probably be platooning w/ some young great lefty cub outfield prospect eight years from now.
  4. I'm probably going to reveal my math ineptitude here, but oh well... Doesn't the mean have to be .500? If each game always results in a win and a loss, and there are X number of games, then there will always be just as many wins as losses each season leaguewide. Now---in each division it's not necessarily the case of course. no, the mean doesn't have to be .500. you're telling me that if the yankees and the royals each played 1,000 games w/ their current rosters, they'd both eventually settle around .500? no way.
  5. who says the mean is .500?
  6. cubs leave 'em loaded. shocking.
  7. heh, thank goodness the cubs could muster up just enough offense so that valverde can get another save. i hate the cubs right now. nice ab, mabry.
  8. how in the hell is that guy on a major league roster. let alone one that has a 100 mil payroll?
  9. He was out of options, hence the trade. Koronka was not out of options. Wasn't he traded to make room on the 40 man? he was traded b/c hendry has an inexplicable fetish for fast guys that can play multiple positions and put up a .580 OPS.
  10. He was out of options, hence the trade. no he wasn't. bynum was out of options.
  11. Exactly where would you have liked to have inked him into the rotation, 10th???? Zambrano, Prior, Wood, Maddux, Hill, Guzman, Marshall, Rusch, Miller??? any trade that brings in freddy bynum is a bad trade. i'd rather have koronka in iowa than bynum in chicago.
  12. if it makes anyone feel better, the guy the cubs traded for freddy bynum -- he of the sub-.600 OPS -- threw 8 1/3 innings of one run ball in arlington.
  13. i think you guys are forgetting how fast these guys are. that cannot be emphasized enough. three [expletive] ab's by murton...he's seen five pitches. aggressive!!!!
  14. pierre literally has trouble hitting the ball out of the infield.
  15. are you friggin' kidding me with those calls?
  16. well, it was no secret that papelbon would give up his first run as soon as i put him in my lineup.
  17. you're forgetting that they also have good chemistry um...i never forget that. nice ab, murton. clines would be proud.
  18. don't worry everybody, the cubs are fast and they play good defense. i'm sure that'll get em back in this one.
  19. hallady didn't deserve a QS anyway. :D
  20. stupid beckett.
  21. manny and halladay are both lucky to be alive after that disaster. whew, no rain shortened shutout...
  22. 50 pitches thru 2.
  23. i don't know about that. though with sheff, pujols, and bonds all missing games b/c of minor injuries, i should really win. glad to see beckett throwing strikes tonight. Myers is making up for it, though. yeah, he's dealing. he throws too many pitches though. i can completely see halladay getting a five inning, rain shortened no hitter tonight. and beckett's walked the bases loaded before giving up a double. nice.
