  1. IF you think he's never gonna have a shaky outing, Im not sure why. Not sure why you included the 12 Million in there either. He's been great all year. Just sounds like a smart ass comment because he gave up one of Hill's runs. sorry. he was awesome. the money spent on him should definitely have not been spent on a serviceable outfielder. Yea that's what I said. Wait a second that's not what I said at all. He's been great all year and actually earning his money. Sorry he gave up an ER for your boy. I don't think the money he spent on Eyre in anyway stopped Hendry from getting an outfielder. The money he spent on Rusch/Neifi/Jones could have easily gone to an outfielder. Clearly this is lost on you though. eyre's been fine, but he's not worth the money. he's gonna have to be unhittable to earn that kind of money pitching four innings a week. it has nothing to do w/ him giving up hill's run...when hill went back out for the 7th, i knew he was going to give up more runs. i will say that that's not how eyre should be used, so i guess i owe eyre a cyber apology. Well I don't think you owe Eyre a cyber apology, I just had no idea where that 12 million dollar comment came from. I was merely attempting to point out that Eyre is one of the few players actually earning his paycheck this year and commenting on the tone of your post.. Eh. Who cares. This team has sucked the will out of me to even argue anymore. agreed.
  2. Me either. And I have to work in about 6.5 hours. i have a final in 14!

  4. the bullpen is dusty-proof though Am I the only one not excited about the bullpen? Don't get me wrong, Eyre is a nice upgrade and Dempster has been better than I expected. But, Hendry is going on 3 years of making the bullpen an offseason priority and I don't see that much of an appreciable difference to date. That being said, I haven't looked at their stats recently. i'm not wowed by it simply b/c it's not worth the money that was spent on it. plus, when you go for weeks on end scoring 1 run a game, it doesn't really matter what your pen does.

  6. the 12 million dollar man looks sharp tonight.
  7. you didn't watch the game, obviously. No, actually I didn't watch the game but 5ER? When is that ever good? i don't know why i'm bothering to explain this to you, but... he had given up 3 thru 6, was at 95 pitches, and was about to go through the order a fourth time. any manager w/ a brain in his head takes him out, and he ends up w/ a solid line considering the bonds hoopla and everything else.
  8. He should've been pulled sooner. Let Eyre come in with the bases clear. No reason to tag extra runs on the kid. pull him after 5? why are you here?
  9. i certainly would have liked to see him go seven. and i may have been ok w/ it if it was matheny/vizcaino/pitcher, but not against the top of the order. and hill gives up five runs.
  10. now hill can go from giving up 3 er to 5. nothing like sending a guy out there for the fourth time through the order when he's thrown more pitches than he ever has in the bigs.
  11. nah, dusty likes walking out there and doing his double switch. it's his trademark.
  12. this is just idiotic. baker sure knows how to use his young players. he's coming out...thank you.
  13. um...yeah, i (and everyone else) saw that coming. hey, now he can leave on a bad note and w/o a QS. good job, dusty.
  14. ugh...hill back out there. why not let him end on a good note?
  15. jones is hopeless. i just can't picture his approach/swing ever leading to decent contact. how in the world did he hit 20+ hr and hit .300??
  16. come on, jones, hit a hr so hill can get the W.
  17. What's Schmidt's pitch count? 66 that's sad.
  18. A secondbaseman with normal sized legs could have gotten to first on time. I totally blame Neifi. actually he got there, he just couldn't find the bag. anyway, neifi sucks. unforunately, neifi has sausage legs. pretty good outing by hill tonight. send him back out for another? i'd like to see him go seven, but i'm afraid it may not end well going through the order a fourth time. gave up seven hits, but a couple were cheapies. of course, he did get spared giving up one BIG hit. :D
  19. good comeback. damn, when a guy is battling like and makes a good pitch, it sucks to see him give up a hit/run.
  20. i was thinking that too, but hill slowed up b/c he thought neifi would be there.
  21. one more horse steroid and that would been outta here.
