  1. what's more shocking...that a team w/ a 100 mil payroll can have the worst offense in the league or that the guy in charge of putting together the 100 mil last place offense not only doesn't get fired, but gets an extension?
  2. Would Barrett have blocked the plate anyway? No, he would have stayed in front of home like he always does and tried a swipe tag to avoid contact. :-s I'm not knocking him, just the strategy. I think if the throw is close or gonna be late, you can easliy get the guy out by blocking plate like Scioscia to buy time. For some reason, Barrett refuses to do this. barrett's plate blocking technique is about 592nd on the list of the cubs' problems right now.
  3. lee or no lee, this offense is horrible. a gm that has a 100 mil payroll to work with should be fired if the end result is the worst offense in the league. end of story.
  4. nice game, losers. hell of a throw, pierre. has it made it to home plate yet?
  5. has jones thrown the ball to the infield in the air all season? i thought he was supposed to be good defensively.
  6. You do realize these guys are only 5.76% of the way through their contracts? i'll save this one for the daily pierre/jones griping. i'll save my response for your daily griping about daily pierre/jones griping.
  7. they're not really worth since the offense sucks so bad. so negative the players make it so easy.
  8. they're not really worth since the offense sucks so bad.
  9. lazy tag by neifi. this team is terrible.
  10. you know what's a good cure for a run deprived team? giving up outs.
  11. he's got some balls signing on the sweet spot. he is definitely not deserving of the sweet spot. i would have laughed soooo hard if he would have dropped that.
  12. i would have laughed my a off if neifi would have snapped that right into the ground. idiot.
  13. the difference between the worst offensive team and an acceptable offense for a 100 mil team is much more than lee. this offense was not good w/ lee, and it obviously sucks w/o him.
  14. i kinda doubt the nats would trade one of the best young hitters in the league (and their cleanup hitter) for one of the worst hitters of all time.
  15. nope. if a group of impatient cub fans who have never checked a minor league box score, let alone listened to a minor league game on the radio or watched one in person is ready to give their expert opinion on somebody they've seen throw 20 innings, then by golly, i'm on board. I agree. There is no reason to criticize Hill on any level whatsoever. Anyone who does so has no idea what they are talking about and probably didn't know Rich Hill existed until yesterday. your sarcasm holds a lot of truth.
  16. or maybe i'll just bump the 'you can't underestimate the importance of...' whatever the hell that thread was. i just took a 6 hour final, so i'm ready to take some frustrations out on something....
  17. you don't know how bad i want to start that thread.
