  1. this must be one of those rare times that rusch isn't on.
  2. i don't care if it's persuasive, i said i didn't want to have an argument about this in the minor league game thread.
  3. you know what i see here as much as complaints about dusty, hendry, or neifi? people complaining about people complaining about dusty, hendry, or neifi.
  4. i've made a huge mistake. don't think i should have started loe.
  5. yet somehow his numbers suck. weird. Wow, 6-2 3.47 sucks? Last year, he had a period of about two months where he struggled, but then found it again at the end of the year. And prior to that two month period, he was really good. If you allow yourself to conclude that he fixed whatever was wrong, he can rightfully be expected to be a dependable starter someone who will give you a good to quality start much of time. That's my argument for why over the last two seasons he has been on about 75% of the time and he has the good numbers to prove it. You just have to look at little deeper to find them. in other words, you have to manipulate the numbers. yeah, just take out a two month stretch...no big deal. why don't we take out 1997-2003? his numbers look even better then. his career era of 4.90, his career whip of 1.47, the two month stretch that he sucked last year, his first start against cincy. i guess that's it. i've argued the rusch sucks argument a hundred times before, i don't want to argue it any further and soil the minor league forum.
  6. yet somehow his numbers suck. weird.
  7. hill's done. 6 ip, 3 h, 1 er, 0 bb, 6 k's and glendon rusch is in the rotation why....?
  8. stupid tuesday afternoon game... another good inning for hill...less than 10 pitches plus a k.
  9. it's bad enough when your SP gives up a hr...but, man, it really chaps your ass when he gives it up to your opponent's hitter. patterson's not a good match w/ MMP. since when did they start letting adam everett swing at 3-0 pitches??
  10. well, the cardinals did kinda play like a class A team this weekend, so...
  11. [-(
  12. in other words, juan cheats overnight by changing all the numbers. barrett!
  13. the funny thing is, now they're talking about it as if to compliment the cubs when before morgan couldn't shut up about how bad it was to rely on hr's.
  14. quit you're bitching, guys. he's missed all inning, he's not gonna get the close ones now.
  15. i wish they'd tell an interesting anecdote about pujols right now.
  16. i have no faith in ramirez right now. get it done, lee. best defensive catcher ever gets a pb.
  17. walker needs to pass on the memo about not swinging at crap in the dirt to pierre.
  18. Pierre? You mean the guy who just drew a walk, but got ripped off? yep.
  19. they're comparing lee and pujols as if lee is dickie thon in comparison. they do realize that pujols is 1-the series, don't they?
  20. That was all Ronny. really? cuz it looked like a short white guy w/ stubble started that.
  21. nice play by the cubs' defensive liability at 2nd.
  22. Sorry not buying that. Say Marshall remains in the game and gives up the long ball? Then it's "stupid Baker why leave the rookie in the game?" The manger is damned either way. He leaves the starter in too long or pulls them too soon? It's all so subjective. Nobody has a crystal ball. The manager certainly isn't damned either way. The fact of the matter is that leaving Marshall in gave us a better chance to get out of it. You're acting as if the only choices were to let Wuertz let two in or Marshall give up the longball. With Marshall being an extreme groundball pitcher, there was more than a decent chance that he could've kept anything from happening at all. Nah sorry but the manager is always damned if he does, damned if he doesn't on any given decision. The manager makes a call and it is up the the player to execute. A manager can make the perfect move in the perfect situation and it does not work out. And he can make the worst move in the worst situation but if it works, most people don't complain. If you don't understand that then you haven't watched enough baseball over the years. i had no problem w/ taking marshall out, but the 'i've watched more baseball than you' argument is weak, weak, weak.
  23. enough harping about reliance on the homerun please. it'd be 4-0 if it weren't for homeruns, idiot.
