  1. why is everyone assuming the cubs are going to make a deal? it's going to be neifi and 2b and walker at 1b (and a really, really bad offense).
  2. go rich hill! try and improve that pitiful 16:1 strikeout to walk ratio.
  3. it seems like it would be better for a rh hitter to injure his right wrist than his left...but i could be wrong. if he goes on the DL, i'd guess that restovich would get called up. hoffpauir could be considered as well, since they may want to have a capable defensive backup for walker/mabry, but i don't think he's on the roster. come to think of it, i don't know if restovich is...
  4. Yep; that makes me a happy camper. :D At least when you go down this week you can take some comfort knowing that it's due to an ageless wonder helping the Cubs win. it's talk like this that inspires my team to jack three homers and a couple of doubles w/in a half an hour span to make your 20+ point lead a distant memory. lesson learned. There may be something to this. Today I keep my mouth shut, and I take back the lead. i'm just glad dusty thought the sixth inning of a tie game vs the heart of the dodger order was a good time for aardsma to make his cub debut, preventing marshall from getting a QS. by the way, just in case anyone was wondering, i mistakenly thought wang was on waivers, so i made what i thought was a claim on him. turns out he wasn't on waivers, so he went right into my lineup, taking loe's spot. juan said to just leave it since i'm not gaining any starts, and NCC has agreed to that. the only excuse i can give for my stupidity is the distraction of watching 14 cubs carted off the field w/ injuries.
  5. that ain't helping your cause for PT, jerry. that sucked.
  6. i was thinking the same thing. if pierre's gonna run, please do it before walker has the chance to 4-6-3.
  7. they play pierre so damn shallow that he has to bunt past the 3b.
  8. he threw home? Hard to follow the game through all the hand-wringing. yep. and it costs 'em. thanks, reppy. and it was a stupid and a bad throw. he should have been more worried about keeping jones at 2nd then trying to get neifi, who he didn't have a real shot at.
  9. that was an incredibly stupid play by repko. tying run moves to 3rd, go ahead run goes to 2nd.
  10. i have an idea -- take him out. better yet, go back in time and never put him in.
  11. any more guys who could make their cub debut in this inning? or should dusty wait until there's a more pressure packed situation? maybe the bases loaded and a 3-0 count on the batter? meanwhile two very good relievers warm up in the pen.
  12. is this really the best time for aardsma's cubs debut? tie game in the 6th inning vs. the heart of the order?
  13. pujols better not see anything to hit today. rolen is out of the lineup and some old guy in jim edmonds' uniform is hitting behind him. their lineup is not that good.
  14. I'm personally pretty happy that Hendry didn't overpay for Furcal and stayed with Cedeno. agreed. we have enough overrated leadoff men (1) on this team.
  15. i liked flipping the bat 12 feet in the air. how does he not get drilled in the head for doing that?
  16. 17. it was on dan patrick, and he did mention the cubs by name.
  18. i've made a huge mistake (maybe more than one). hanley ramirez is going off...and i considered throwing him out there at U this week. tejada may have to go on the block. and oliver perez is off to a better start. though he just walked the pitcher w/ two outs and then allowed a double. boy, does that st louis lineup blow outside of rolen and pujols. i can't see why anyone would pitch to pujols right now.
  19. i didn't realize i was going to be facing two starts from 1992 greg maddux this week...
  20. but his defense is KILLING the team.
  21. patterson and myers came around this week in a serious way.
  22. you misspelled 2.
