  1. man, you're really intent on convincing everybody that he'll be out for the season.
  2. well, he certainly wasn't dominating. he was 90-91 on iowa's gun, which has never been very accurate...so i didn't think much of it. but then the sky sox guy was around 89-90, so maybe the gun was accurate, and wood was just kinda slow. plus, his last pitch of the 5th inning was 93 on the scoreboard gun, and i was standing behind the guys w/ the guns in the stands, and the gun i looked at said 93 too. kinda worries me a little bit. as i'm sure everyone who watched it saw, he didn't command his breaking stuff very well, and he missed up quite a bit with his fb. it was also very cold, and the wind was blowing in. shealy's fly ball to right may have been a hr on another night.
  3. all i know is that eddie vedder's singing on sunday!
  4. i'll be there, weather permitting. this is the guy that's in charge?
  5. if someone gets thrown out trying to steal down 6 runs, i'm gonna laugh.
  6. where are you hearing this gone for the year and career threatening stuff?
  7. finley in for matsui, who is having surgery tomorrow. i was gonna get jacque, but the cubs may get rained out tomorrow. edit: matsui's out three months??? [expletive].
  8. man, now matsui's hurt. my guys have been dropping left and right. but i'm not going to let an injury or two derail my team...unlike a certain chicago-based major league team i know!
  9. I wouldn't mind that thinking if they were debating on 2 good players. If the Cubs traded for Dontrelle over Clemens because Willis was a better hitter, then great. If the Cubs were deciding on Abreu or Giles and went with Bobby A's defense, then great. But this is Conine vs. Millar. That makes it worse. They know the offense needs help, but they seek out guys who can't hit. clemens is better than dontrelle. dontrelle's getting shelled again.
  10. I'd do the exact same thing if I met Bellhorn! me too!
  11. .326 vs RHP. better than mabry.
  12. goony makes an appearance in the RK forum! too bad he's too scared to play in the league...
  13. batting 8th today? good spot for his .370 OBP.
  14. how to decide? two words... foot race.
  15. took about 30 games for the LEGITIMATE leadoff hitter we've coveted for so many years to get taken out of that spot. good trade!
  16. that's because you say idiotic things. agreed. does baker really get race-related hate mail? i kind of have a hard time believing that.
  17. no kidding. i'll probably pick up someone to take sheets' spot, but pickings are slim. as much as i like hill, i don't know if i'm ready to throw him out there quite yet. i need the harangatang to get thru 6 tonight... any FA's in line to face the cubs this week? wish i could put street in at SP.
  18. wow, someone at cbs is cranky... ouch. strong words for a guy that's missed time and is still the seventh highest scoring catcher in the game.
  19. anybody know when teixeira turned into a poor man's sean casey? .264/.356/.441 i was kinda expecting him to be outscoring jay gibbons and phil nevin at this point.
  20. SPEED NEVER SLUMPS!
  21. hmm....a dlee rehab in des moines...i could go far that.
  22. 5 hr, 6 rbi for the hand sanitizers today.
  23. the sooner he gets back, the sooner the cubs can stop using his injury as an excuse for their suckage.
  24. how many CG is that against the cubs in the past couple weeks. cubs should challenge the giants to a foot race in the parking lot!
  25. pierre must have read your post. he's hit two balls slightly below moderately hard to the outfield tonight.
