  1. izturis is going to pick this ab for his weekly hit, hill will be ph for, whoever that is will not come through, and the bullpen will implode.
  2. the cubs' four man rf platoon is absolutely terrible.
  3. after a spell of absolutely crappiness, hill looks pretty good right now. he's only at about 75 pitches.
  4. wow, that replay made it look like pagan has never played baseball before. what a crap bunch of outfielders the cubs have. mariners hacking early against hill.
  5. seems to get rattled pretty easily and do some dumb things. i don't know about that...he's been pretty rock solid for the past year. hopefully it's just bad luck and it will even out.
  6. punch him, rich! once again, all of hill's mistakes cost him. frustrating.
  7. hill looks like [expletive] tonight. olsen, however, has channeled sandy koufax.
  8. woulda got out of it if it weren't for the balk.
  9. damn it...he had a decent shot of getting out of it too.
  10. i was hoping alamo would get olsen into his lineup to face the tribe. i was counting on a negative point effort from him.
  11. if hill throws strikes, he's pretty damn hard to score off of.
  12. it seems like every one of hill's mistakes/walks comes back to haunt him.
  13. speaking of a pile of crap. so all wood and prior were was hype and hope, huh? those two did more for this organization "on the field" than hill, theriot, pie, fontenot, marshall and guzman added together times 10. two good weeks out of pie is "producing for the cubs on the field," yet wood's 165 innings in 1998, 170 innings in 2001, 200+ innings in 2002, 200+ dominant innings in 2003, his postseason performance in 2003, and 140 innings of 122 era+ in 2004 were all hype and hope? and fontenot's 20 good ab's is "producing for the cubs on the field," but prior's 120 dominant innings at age 21, one of the greatest seasons ever by a cub pitcher in 2003, and two above average injury shortened seasons in 2004 and 2005 were all hype and hope? what a stupid, stupid post. have a little perspective. it's crap like this that makes me hate a lot of my fellow cub fans.
  14. andy all the way.
  15. DITTO. He's the reason why I'm here. wow, that's so romantic.
  16. Wow that's really cool. How long ago did you move? '86. if i had known you were so old, i wouldn't have voted for you.
  17. i'm so excited that at some positions, piniella is playing the better player. he's a genius.
  18. piniella seems to be sticking to the "if you play well, you'll get PT" theory (theriot, fontenot, pie), but he doesn't seem to abide by the "if you play like crap, you won't get PT" theory (jones, izturis). weird.
  19. derosa's better than all three of them.
  20. how more obvious can it be that izturis should never play?
  21. truly a classic thread.
