  1. wait, jones is playing against a lefty?? nice cut.
  2. i love that sandberg quote about bunts. yeah, his 31 career sac bunts is what got him in the hof.
  3. yeah, studies have shown that dumb pitchers are more prone to wild pitches. Watch him in person. He gets flustered, alot. I don't hate the guy, but showed tons of negative body language Friday night in Cincy. Pacing around the mound, shrugging his shoulders, putting his head down. It doesn't have anything to do with intelligence, more like composure. If Friday is a "bad" outing, then I'm not going to complain about Hill's composure or how he goes about his job on the mound. Did I say it was a bad outing? It was just a comment on his mannerisms. Things fall apart for him very quickly. That's a matter of opinion. If there's a strong defensive catcher Hill might not have given up any runs that inning. As it stood he only gave up one, is that falling apart? How do you know that it's linked to his mannerisms? People are different, Hill may show outward displays of frustration in order for him to get over it and focus entirely on the next play. Sure it was Kendall fault that Hill made a error, Hit, HBP, and walk. There is no one to blame but himself. that's not what he said. at all.
  4. hard to say. i slit both my wrists after the phillies had the bases loaded in the 1st.
  5. hill is doing his best to ruin the season for the cubs. lee two out double followed by a walk to derosa.
  6. three run homer for fielder. man, that's a rough looking cub lineup.
  7. You seriously putting that on Kendall? it was definitely a wild pitch, but kendall didn't look too hot trying to block it. i've seen barrett blamed for less.
  8. yeah, studies have shown that dumb pitchers are more prone to wild pitches.
  9. 2.37 era in his last three starts. he's horrible.
  10. Prove it. Haha, nothing in that statement needs to be proved. Defenders flat out despise slow pitchers and tend to not make as many great plays behind them. If this is "definitely" true it will be rather easily proved. Is that the only response you can ever come up with, "prove it"? How about this...how about you prove to me that it isn't true, then we can talk. prove to me that unicorns don't exist.
  11. I think it says guys don't like playing behind Rich. He is slow, throws lots of pitches and really doesn't get the defense involved (Lots of K's and flyballs). Whoa whoa whoa I'm not saying anything like that, I'm just saying it might affect Rich a little pyschologically. He plays his heart out and the bats never seem to pay him any favors. I know what you're saying. And I'm saying that maybe if he pitched a little faster (lower pitch counts, quicker innings) that the bats might pick him up more often. good ol' nsbb...you never know what wacky statement you're going to read.
  12. i'm not liking hill's chances against the phils. prove me wrong, wuss.
  13. This is so ludicrous. He's given up seeing eye ground balls. I guess the haters will hate no matter what. when you don't strike anyone out (and walk people), all those ground balls are going to find holes.
  14. Jones has been on fire vs. right handed pitching, and floyd will hurt himself again soon. The only one on that list that really is maddening is Kendall. Especially with Soto tearing it up. A .696 OPS since the All Star Break is on fire now? I understand hes been better, but it would have been really hard to play worse He has a .649 OPS against RH pitchers this season. Again, not really on fire. He's had a decent 2-week stretch, but he still was putting up a sub .800 OPS during that time period. and during his decent two week stretch most of his hits were 16 hop rollers that found holes. he looks like the same hitter he was in may.
  15. Soriano, Jones, Floyd isn't that bad on paper if you look at their last healthy seasons. jones last healthy season is the current one, and he's been terrible.
  16. No, we have a good GM. His name is Jim Hendry. A bad GM would have traded Marshall or Hill for a relief pitcher with a history of arm injuries. so because hendry didn't make some horrible, made up trade that he was never offered he's a good gm by default?
  17. simple baseball logic...classic.
  18. he overthrew the cut-off man once. on a basehit to right he also sort of hesitated before throwing the ball, but made a good throw and nothing bad came of it. wow, i wish he were dead.
  19. that myers to the bullpen move has paid off BIG TIME.
  20. Soriano did the same thing we sending him to AAA? maybe just a slight difference in talent level.
  21. Better say the same for Soriano too i think it's pretty well known that soriano isn't the brightest of players. he just has more talent.
  22. TURNS OUT FILING A LAWSUIT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO GET A BILLION DOLLARS AFTER ALL! OH MY GOODNESS, ALL THAT WHINING FOR NOTHING!
