  1. pagan's one of those guys that people think are good defensively because he's skinny, fast, and he can't hit.
  2. saying the game is 90% mental is one of the most ridiculous things i've ever read on this board.
  3. [expletive] fantastic...bush pitches like [expletive] (including giving up two homers to my opponent) and the brewers win. and [expletive] you, pat burrell. and this line... 80 PC, 6.1 INN, 9 HA, BBI, 4 K, 4 ER, 6 1BA, 3 2BA, HB = 8 points but this line... 90 PC, 5 INN, 8 HA, 3 BBI, 4 K, 5 ER, 2 1BA, 3 2BA, 3 HRA = -9??
  4. better than the turds the cubs have had back there.
  5. finally...someone has applied sound logic to this situation.
  6. three starts have earned me a whopping .3 points. man, that braves offense is tough w/ teixeira in there.
  7. just gotta give it up to the lord cause the guys battled through it...you know, just giving 110%. murton said "battled" 63 times. the interviewer was like, "what were you thinking on the wild pitch?" nice question, cronkite.
  8. i'm surprised murton didn't stop half way home and run to second or something. this interview is tough to watch.
  9. murton getting lucky all over the basepaths.
  10. murton with more extra basehits this inning than floyd had all of july!
  11. if it makes you feel any better, he got a terrible jump on that one.
  12. yeah...all hill's fault. How isn't it? are you watching the game? I'm not...can you tell me? two of the runs scored b/c they got on w/ bloops.

  14. fine. he would have went. great play by rowand. and i am PISSED that the announcers mentioned it. whatever gets your baseball purist motor going.
  15. Are you saying it did not matter when Rowand threw well to third? If so you ought to think the same thing about chiken-wing Jacque. yeah, i'm saying it didn't matter. lee wasn't going no matter what. jones being terrible doesn't have anything to do with it. You completely ignored my point in order to further your own. if jones would have lolly gagged on the play and the guy would have tagged, yes, i would have been all over him. what's your point? oh, is it ok if i criticize jones for misjudging that fly ball by roughly 30 feet? I just don't get 1. how you can say a ball about 10 feet from the warning track in right center 'isn't that deep' 2. how you can say Lee definitely wouldn't have gone in light of 1 and the fact that Lee went back to the bag to tag 3. why Len and Bob commenting about it gets you so fired up. it doesn't get me fired up, and i know lee wouldn't go because he, well, didn't go. and i really doubt it was because roward got all shifty and in throwing position. but if you think lee would have risked making the third out of the inning at third on a medium deep fly ball to center, go nuts.
  16. it was hard to tell since jones prevented the camera from being anywhere near the ball, but was that ball catchable?

  18. Cancels out what he did in CF one play earlier. but the thing is, he really didn't do anything. lee was never going to run on that. stuff like that is done solely so the announcers can heap praise all over him eckstein style. when he really needs to do it right, he rainbows the throw from center...and it costs the phillies a run. How do you know Lee was never hoing to run? If that were Jacque in CF and he assumed the man at second wasn't going to run and thus lolly-gagged over (you know, the way Sammy used to in RF?) you'd be all over him. You should change your name to Nostradomus. i'm not criticizing rowand for it, i'm just not going gaga for it. lee wouldn't tag b/c it wasn't deep and he wouldn't have wanted to make the third out at third.
  19. how do you know this? if he didn't have any intention of tagging, why was he standing on the back instead of part way between second and third? if Rowand catches that ball flat footed or going away, Lee tags and gets to third. no he doesn't. there's no way he tags on a fly ball to medium deep right-center with two outs.

  22. where were rowand's fundamentals when it mattered?
