  1. quit your whining. yeah, it sucks, but the cubs missed oswalt twice and webb when they were in arizona. the cubs shouldn't need the astros help to win 85 games.
  2. i've never got the whole loss column thing.
  3. sheets gives me -1 points and the brewers still win. fantastic. can't wait til hudson loses 1-0 to the brewers this weekend. i'm surprised verlander was only at -8. i figured 4 homers would put him in the -20 range.
  4. ben sheets' [expletive] ass may have cost me any chance i had at this.
  5. i don't get it. the guy at the plate is the tying run either way. if the guy at the plate is going to tie the game, it has to be with a homer...he doesn't have any other "options." i think you're miscounting or something.
  6. i think your math is off. or something. the bases loaded double makes it 5-3. a single after that makes it 5-4, tying run on first. the grand slam makes it 5-4. a single after that makes it 5-4, tying run on first. how is the double better?
  7. you'd definitely be wrong.
  8. i was so close to benching hill for last night's game...damn. still a good start for me offensively.
  9. jason kendall is a "winning type of player." remember all those world series he won in pittsburgh?
  10. starting now? because you did it in the sentence right before you said you weren't going to do it anymore.
  11. i agree that a scout's opinion is valuable, but that's because a scout's job is to evaluate baseball players...that's what they were trained to do. you were trained in broadcasting, and that's a lot different. Your not arguing that a broadcaster (who watches the team everyday) doesn't have more insight into players than a person who simply looks at stats and reads box scores are you? what is that "insight" exactly? sure, he knows who's nice, who's a jerk, who the coaches like, etc, and, no, i don't have that information. but him seeing ryan theriot everyday when he was in AA doesn't give him anymore insight than i have with regard to his performance with the big league team this year.

  13. Defference and respect are intersections on a two way street. I fully agree. I personally enjoy being part of a community where Radio announcers, TV announcers, parents and spouses of Cubs players, reporters, and other front office people frequent. The easiest way to ruin that is to continue to post childish posts or attack them for every little thing you have issue with. read his original post, which starts off the "attacking." i appreciate these guys being here too, but they don't get a free pass to talk down to people juat because they eat at the buffett table with adam greenberg.
  14. Those of us in the game? Dude you're a minor league radio announcer, get over yourself. we agree for the first time ever.
  15. It's great not to have to worry about them - Howard has 2 HRs and the Phillies have 4 haha we're going to be worrying about them when the brewers are beating the hell out of them next week.
  16. yeah...you're not very bright.
  17. his spark quotient is off the charts.
  18. obviously. and if jason kendall starts, i wouldn't expect all-star numbers or anything even close.
  19. so long as he starts against milwaukee, who cares? but now i don't think he is starting against milwaukee. i think he was supposed to start wednesday, but now he's starting this weekend. milwaukee is going up against three scrubs in the houston series, i believe.
  20. while it was certainly nice to win 3 of 4, i personally thought the cubs looked terrible this weekend. maybe not the worst they've looked all year, but not much better than that. luckily for them, st louis is one of the worst teams in the league right now.
  21. are people seriously bitching about bringing in wuertz and now ohman? it's the 3rd/4th inning of the second game of a double header. sorry they can't roll out goose gossage, mariano rivera or billy wagner. geez.
  22. seriously Lou, whats the point? who do you want in the game? anyone. Piggy?? Wood?? Woof pitched game 1. Everyone else not named Marmol or Howry isn't that good anyway... my point is why is Wuertz here..I understand the whole take on for the team, but jesus find someone in AAA or AA you keep saying that, but you're not throwing out any names. "someone in AAA or AA" isn't cutting it.
