  1. no no no....it's the "charm of wrigley field" to sit behind a post +1 -400 (dollars).
  2. my dad called and asked for a full refund...we'll see what happens. hopefully the guy will be ok with it. at least this way he'll get the tickets back and he can try to sell them again. his other option is to be forced to give us our money back (through ebay or paypal) and not get the tickets back in time to sell them before the game.
  3. probably. but they're not the only seats left. Well I hope you can at least see home plate / pitchers mound. That will make it much more enjoyable. I think if I had a choice between having to croon my neck a little to see portions of the outfield, or having to deal with people walking in front of me the whole game, I would choose the former. So hopefully there won't be much of the latter for you. yeah, after thinking about it, it's not as bad as i initially thought. in fact, i probably wouldn't complain about it if i knew going in there was going to be a post there...but the seller's dishonesty is what really pisses me off. i think we overpaid regardless and even more so with the post there. but i agree...i'd rather be in the first row behind a post than in the fifth row behind the post.
  4. probably. but they're not the only seats left.
  5. not a hero, but i'll take 70 ribbies from my utility man every day and twice on sundays he's not the utility man. but i'm still ok with him.
  6. i don't think he was ever a goat, i don't think he's currently a hero, and any transformation he made was not quick. so, i guess my answer would be yes.
  7. saturday.
  8. i realize i'm fortunate to be going, but it's still pretty scummy to not mention that in the auction. i think you'd still be able to see home plate even from the first seat, and i'm sure we can move our heads around, but still...
  9. the guy mailed the tickets today, THEN called my dad to tell him they were obstructed view. i'd like to murder this a-hole with my bare hands.
  10. http://www.seatdata.com/images/mlb_cubs/800x600/516.jpg looks like we're right behind that pole. awesome.
  11. sorry...516.
  12. it's very frustrating trying to buy playoff tickets (and spending lots of money to do so) when you don't know where all the stupid posts and whatnot are. we just got seats in the first row of section 501, and the ebay seller called to tell us the seats are "partial view" or something. how can the front row of that section have an obstructed view??
  13. I'm fine with it, simply because he will be on a very short leash if he is not on. However if he is on it could be a great thing against them. Arizona doesn't score a whole lot of runs they are 28th in BA and OBP, and 15th in K's. You just have to be ready to pull him at any point of the game. I'm fine with that as long as Zambrano is on the same short leash. He has been much more inconsistent. He has not pitched his way out of trouble very well. He has no previous playoff success. Zambrano has playoff experience. yeah, but he's been terrible.
  14. wow, that was quite the furious push at the end. after getting like 1 point for my first four starts hill, laffey and especially ubaldo came up huge. however, i really, really think we should either cut the last week out completely or combine it with the next to last week for a two week championship so the importance of the iffy last week is diluted a bit. we both missed a TON of innings from key players this week. that being said, i'm pretty happy to take my third straight...now let's start talking trades!
  15. yeah, it's the worst thing since the holocaust that we can't see the brilliant, glorious 87 win phillies in the playoffs and that we have to suffer through watching the terrible, pitiful 83 win cubs. may god have mercy on us all.
  16. i have a bad feeling i'm going to look at the score later and have some intial shock. unfortunately my hopes ride on rich hill and ubaldo jimenez...though i think i could pick someone up to fill in for sheets or shawn hill, couldn't i? Hrm, I didn't know that was allowed. I'd much prefer relying on a free agent than Mike Pelfrey if my season was on the line. but pelfrey's not hurt, those guys are. i'm not saying i'm going to pick someone up for sure, i was just wondering. but we agree that getting a new 2b is ok since kent is out, right? Pelfrey's in because Lincecum is out for the season, so would that make it ok? Yeah, go ahead and replace Jeff Kent. hmm...i don't know. i remember saying we couldn't pull guys up from the minors or the waiver wire midweek just to get 7 starts, but i don't know if it's different for injuries. if i do throw someone out there, it may be that laffey guy for cleveland who is on my minor league roster right now. thoughts on that? replacing kent would be like tim replacing pujols with jacobs, wouldn't it? i think that's ok.
  17. i still think we're at a slight disadvantage with regard to negotiating because i haven't even put any thought into the offseason...and the roster deadline is a month and a half earlier this year. that being said, i don't think we can put a gag order on negotiations, so go nuts. however, when tim and raw are selling you on their guys, remember there are players on two teams that beat tim and raw that you could be trading for. :D

  20. prince has over 30 too...surprising the brewers are losing. the last week is such a crapshoot. vlad, beckett, cc, and lackey will all be limited for him, and the use of kent, s. hill, sheets, and lilly will be altered because it's the last week.
  21. it's worse than the brewers vs. the cubs. what a lame finale. so i can pick up a 2b to replace kent, who is "doubtful" for the rest of the season correct?
  22. with kendall already in the game, why not PH with him and put Pie in center??? Lou is a bad manager. That is the answer. he's not terrible but he's been very bad in this series. It's a team choke from top to bottom. agreed. the ab's of lee, derosa and jones in particular smacked of choking.
  23. it's not trachsel's fault that he's 56 years old and terrible. it's hendry's fault for trading for him and lou's fault for running him out there for the biggest game of the year.
