  1. if it were possible to put money on a PI/holding call on a given play, i would have put a lot on ne's 4th down play. most predictable call ever.
  2. yeah, hill for hamilton is insane. i wouldn't even do marmol for hamilton.
  3. scott rolen is a slightly warm corpse. the cardinals better not get anything of value for him.
  4. it's funny how everyone perceives him to be something he's not. a friend of mine told me he should bat leadoff because he walks a lot (lowest OBP in the lineup) and because he takes a lot of pitches (fewest p/pa on the team).
  5. that's a pretty sad haul for quentin.
  6. everyone always says theriot was a "tough out," but he was last on the team in p/pa. last. behind everyone. even koyie hill, even cedeno, even pie, even soriano. last.
  7. floyd was essentially the same player as murton last year, but 246 years older.
  8. that's like saying there aren't people who cancer can kill unless there are people who cancer can make better.
  9. because he wants to take his third shot at signing a crappy rf solely because he hits left-handed. hendry's essentially been adding years to jeromy burnitz's original contract, just with different guys taking the money.
  10. see how that works both ways? you cant have "choking" in baseball w/o "clutch". why? please explain this to me.
  11. Shawn Green, Geoff Jenkins, and Luis Gonzalez. Whoever takes 2/12 first gets the honor of being the object of our hate all year. you'd think hendry would have learned by now that lefthanded rf does not equal good after the past few seasons. those guys are clones of the cubs' previous two rf experiments.
  12. i don't blame the twins though. the rumored offers for santana have been incredibly weak.
  13. with hendry basically announcing that murton's not in the cubs' plans, i don't see how he could.
  14. too bad hendry's love of lefty relievers is probably second only to his love for ryan theriot.
  15. Was that when he was trying to be a switch hitter? As has been said a million times, those numbers don't mean anything because most of those at bats were as a left handed hitter, whereas he bats right handed. and sucks at it.
  16. i've also never heard anyone claim he's the second best lefty in the NL and, in the same breath, claim he's overrated.
  17. yes, murton's 100 OPS+ will never do...especially since we have to play a right-handed theriot and his 72 OPS+. also, good thing hendry traded jones for crap.
  18. that's more ridiculous than any made up quote i've ever read.
  19. Yup, because the Cubs could not use a good player like crawford. oh, they were just going to give him to the cubs? the cubs weren't going to have to give up, say, rich hill to get him? well, if that's the case, i take it back. I'm unsure if I'd give up Hill to get him. Hill is a tad overrated. He's a above average pitcher but if he was in the AL he's not even in the discussion of top five or six lefties in the AL. In the NL he may very well be the best lefty not named Hamels. That alone tells you how weak the level of play is right now in the NL. um...that makes no sense.
  20. Yup, because the Cubs could not use a good player like crawford. oh, they were just going to give him to the cubs? the cubs weren't going to have to give up, say, rich hill to get him? well, if that's the case, i take it back.
  21. that loss by kansas to missouri was the best thing that could have happened to them. stupid.
  22. clutch will never be proven because it's ridiculous to think a guy can magically improve to a level beyond his normal ability on cue unless you're playing some type of video game. if a player had the ability to "clutch up" and hit .100 points higher in tight spots, he'd use this magical ability at all times and just hit .100 points higher overall (and become much more wealthy and valuable to his team).
