  1. starting to hate them. "I can guarantee you," one Brewers player said before the game, "that the Cubs don't enjoy playing us." really? because they went 9-6 against you last year, which i'm guessing was pretty enjoyable.
  2. i thought that only applied to pitchers. it's my understanding that you would be able to pick up a FA to replace a day-to-day injured position player. sure, so long as you don't exceed the roster limits. and don't put the injured guy on your DL unless he's really on the DL.

  4. he wasn't pitching as the closer today.
  5. a .600 slg would be even better. now that i think about it, a .700 slg would be even better.
  6. No. :D Well so far Zimmerman has a K .... not quite what I wanted  Oh no....Cordero has shoulder stiffness :( i know a guy with a couple extra closers.
  7. what should i do with my signed BA issue with him on the cover?
  8. i don't feel like there's enough of a difference, if any, between them. cedeno botches more easy plays, but he has better range and a better arm.
  9. yeah, i'll probably spot start him if he starts out up and down. ok, the twins need to open the season with liriano in the rotation...5 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 7 k's today.
  10. FINALLY someone acknowledges my dynasty. bout time. anyway, now that villanueva has locked up a rotation spot, i really need to the twins to keep liriano on their roster instead of sending him to AAA. and i'd like to see ubaldo and hill stop pitching like [expletive].
  11. i'm great.
  12. this post reminds me of the people i sat near when i was at ST. people got sooo worked up about hustle and diving and all this other stuff nobody does in ST. the crowds at ST games really care if their team wins...it's weird.
  13. comcast has an HD channel on directv, but wgn does not, if i remember correctly.
  14. he's a younger, corner outfield version of theriot.
  15. saw that earlier. i can think of 50 guys within that age group that i'd rather have than melky.
  16. poor murton is wasting his prime years being the 5th OF/shuttle guy to iowa. is there anyone who truly doubts he could be a starting major league outfielder?
  17. this may be old news, as i haven't been keeping up with the minors like i used to, but i was somewhat surprised to see fox taking infield at 3b and drew rundle taking infield at 1b last week. also, jose ceda likes to yell really loud and dance a lot. and he's huge.
  18. technically i was stalking fukudome, wood and dempster before accidentally stumbling upon a stalking of hill.
  19. i think the cubs are (were?) a bit concerned about hill. he threw in the bullpen for quite a while after his last terrible outing, and they had a guy stand there like he was a hitter, which seems a little strange. also, i was walking to my seat yesterday at hohokam when i walked by an open door to the cubs' weight room. i stood there and watched fukudome, wood and dempster (who did a LOT of stuff considering he was pitching that day) do their exercises for a while, then hill came in and went through his pitching motion a bunch of times while looking in the mirror. ps - he also pulled himself up on the pull up bar and hung by his knees like a monkey for a second, and i really wish i could have gotten my camera out to catch that moment because it would have made a great avatar.
  20. can't wait til the cubs sign brian roberts.
  21. i wonder how concerned the cubs are about hill. after he came out the other day he went out to the pen and threw for 10 minutes with a guy standing in the batter's box.
  22. i mean, maybe they got screwed, but they'd lose in the first or second round anyway. that's why i really don't feel too bad for bubble teams that don't get in. which is why two bubble teams should have to play the tuesday play-in game to get in as the 12 seed or something Yeah, they just said that on Mike and Mike. What do you guys think about Bobby Knights idea of having 128 teams? It is just one more game. that would take all the excitement out of the conference tournament week. every big east, acc, big ten team with a winning record would make the tournament.

  24. You can move him to the DL right now to avoid dropping players knowing he won't be on the DL. This way you could have a legal roster, and avoid making cuts. well, i'm assuming he would have to be injured and not playing in spring games to be put on the DL. you can't just randomly put some dude on the DL. are there non-injured players on teams' DLs?
