    Week 2

why even allow us to swap them out at all? it would just be simpler to say the lineups (SP's excluded) are set on monday, end of story. if someone is hurt, you can remove him. when he's better, you can put him back in. allowing everybody to take a guy out once during a week is tough to police and could allow teams to gain games played advantages from position players.

yeah, you can't take valverde out.
  3. he spent most of the year wondering whether he was going to have to uproot his family for crying out loud.
  4. ok, then you don't bench him. good talk.
  5. who was the guy that insisted LOOGY's were "a myth?"
  6. I don't usually do this, but:  1) I never said he should be benched; 2) Comparing him to Aramis and Fukudome is stupid. Roll your eyes all you want. I didn't directly compare him to either player...simply pointing out that "something might need to be done" (and what that possibly means besides playing him less, I have no idea) about a productive and generally reliable player having a couple of unfortunately costly errors this early in the season is pretty much an exercise in futility. Then it looks like you missed the point of my post. If he becomes a butcher at 2B what do we do? I dunno, I am just asking. i guess you bench him. which is what everyone said at first, but you didn't like that. i don't know what you want. more importantly, what do we do if rich hill loses his arm in a lawnmower accident? i don't know...but it's a question that needs to be asked.
  7. Your post lacks the biting sarcasm I've come to expect from you. Having sympathy for me tonight? the brian roberts rumors are getting to him.
  8. wait, you're saying derosa's error today was due to the trade rumors he suffered through during ST? I'm saying he's been noticeably worse in the field this season, and he himself said he was having trouble concentrating on baseball preparing for the season. I'm not the only one drawing the link between the two. We're still just 7 games in. The man is probably still trying to get his head in the game. He was probably spending most of March talking about whether he would need to uproot his family, for God's sake. so it's having a drastic, negative effect on him in the field, yet he is putting up career high numbers on offense. interesting theory you've got there even though it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

  10. I don't usually do this, but:  1) I never said he should be benched; well, you did ask what should be done, so i'm assuming you think some type of action should be taken. and i don't know what else could be done other than benching him. unless you want him to run laps or something.
  11. yeah, what a pretty boy...he stays in a suite. theriot, on the other hand, sleeps in the infield dirt.
  12. But everyone was bitching that lou should have used Marmol in the 6th. Wow Maybe Lou knows a little about this game! or maybe had he used marmol in the sixth it'd still be 8-5.
  13. Pass on Crawford at 19. He can't make enough contact. Great D though, amazing arm. Good pop in the bat too. Sounds like a future Cub to me! I'll pass on Alex Gonzalez redux. Thanks. I would definitely take him at 39 if he lasts that long (thank you Jason Kendall). Just not at 19. but he's just like alex gonzalez. carbon copy.

  15. You mean aside from the 3 run double earlier? totally outweighed by his inability to move the runner over for hart to drive in.
  16. please. he's up there to drive the run in. is he supposed to move him over so hart can drive him in?
  17. i think so too.
  18. why go out of your way to protect people that make ridiculous statements?
  19. Crowd Control I was standing against the wall, facing the fans, in the isle that the HR flew right over. I turned around as soon as i heard the crack of the bat and saw the fans in my section get wide-eyed. I knew it was coming my way and I didn't want to get hit by a line-drive. Then I realized I would probably look like a clown in the replay - luckily for me you can't tell who i am in that video thanks to it being so blurry. How'd you get that job? mark cuban.
  20. guys, playing lf isn't that hard.
  21. yeah, because theriot is to cedeno what ramirez is to fontenot. good point.
  22. it's not based on when a particular player's game starts, but when the first game in all of MLB starts. i think you have to do it 30 minutes before the first game of that day.
  23. you guys keep winning imaginary championships four years from now, and i'll continue winning the championship for the current season. anyway, i'm looking pretty solid for 2014. i've done mock drafts for the next six seasons, and i'm stacked.
  24. it seemed like every game that was effected by the weather would have been fine if they had just been playing at the visiting team's park. also, as i mentioned in the japan games thread, will someone please do something about buddiga's scoring?
