  1. agreed! woo hoo!
  2. there's a difference between "mentioning" the cardinals and throwing full-fledged hissy fits about how it's not fair how lucky they are. but, hey, if that's how people want to spend their summer, i guess that's their right.
  3. not that it's effecting our matchup or anything, but i don't believe billy butler is eligible to be on the minor league roster. also, buddiga's roster is kind of a mess.
  4. instead of whining like pathetic white sox fans about how "lucky" the stupid cardinals are, how about you babies enjoy the cubs' season...after all they have like the best record in the NL. this has been the best cubs season of my lifetime and instead of being able to enjoy it, i come here and have to read you cry babies nitpicking individual plays of the freaking cardinals' season just to see if they are unfairly getting lucky. i mean, seriously, we're sitting here arguing about whether some back up middle infielder is having what you would technically consider a "lucky" season. and if he, is that really fair to the poor cubs??? it's truly pathetic. either all you emo, woe is me cub fans need to get into some other self-hating ritual (cutting perhaps?) or i'm going to have to put you all on ignore.
  5. kelly johnson in for an injured uggla. by the way, is johnson exempt? http://roadkill123.baseball.sportsline.com/players/playerpage/292279
  6. sherrill gives up a two-out, two-strike save-blowing hr for the second day in a row. don't make me pick up trevor hoffman, georgie boy.
  7. Mark Mulder is toast. You forget which team he plays for... :Duncan's Pixie Dust: What teams did he play for the last 3 years? and what did the cardinals give up to get him? hint: a lot.
  8. looper's about in line with what you'd expect him to be and dempster's been one of the best starting pitchers in the league. you're right...they're not very similar...dempster's success is WAY more out of leftfield than looper's.
  9. i don't see how the team cannot suspend him for a couple games.
  10. That says a lot about you as a manager.... :) what do my three championships say about me as a manager? ZING!
  11. you deserve to lose when you pitch to pujols with first base open.
  12. i would never want 12 starts to choose from. the chances of me picking the right ones would be zero.
  13. weak. looper is the same guy he's always been (actually a little worse)...he's just doing it as a starter. larue's hitting .240. brendan ryan is OPS-ing like .660 and has like 100 ab's. DEAL WITH THE DEVIL!
  14. you're damn right you'd rather be facing NC in the playoffs.
  15. please list the 20 cardinals and the 3 cubs. because i can think of four cubs in two seconds w/o even trying.
  16. everybody stop saying emboldened.
  17. guys, they play like three innings. you worry too much.
  18. i don't think fukudome getting two ab's to braun's one is going to make much of a difference.
  19. doesn't SF have a huge outfield? i'm not sure i want ward out there at all during this series.
  20. very fortunate to win last week considering fielder, uggla and rollins combined for 10.75 and blanton and dempster combined for -44. thank goodness for the duke and jonathan sanchez. looks like i'm the big loser in the russell martin trade. at least sanchez has been good (and exempt).
  21. i'm not worried, but i'm annoyed for the first time this season. they're playing pretty stupid baseball.
  22. but really lineup changes are made on monday morning/after the games start on sunday. some people don't have time on monday morning though. well, you could set your lineup for the week anytime after noon on sunday too. not if waivers run on sunday night. well, if you want to make a waiver claim, you'll just have to tend to your business on monday morning. i think that's better than me being unable to make a waiver claim on a guy if i was in a close matchup this week. unless we allow for some kind of "you can make a lineup change for sunday's game if the guy you're inserting into the lineup was a waiver pick up" rule. i'd be fine with that too.
