  1. glad to see murton get a start against a righty. neither cedeno nor patterson are doing much for me these days.
  2. i'm getting sick of that little combo. i can't wait til krod quits lucking into four save opps a week.
  3. damn, i was counting on a negative from him.
  4. My priority is not wasting my time clicking that stupid All Star Ballot. I hope he makes it, but I've got much better things to do than vote for him hundreds of times. I did three then got bored. ok, then you're clearly not making it your top priority.
  5. sure would be nice if uggla could get healthy in time to participate in a four game series at coors.
  6. If you had any confidence in him continuing that production, there's no way you'd look to trade him! well, it would obviously depend on what i was getting in return. it's getting to the point now where there aren't many SP's that i would give him up for in a 1-for-1 deal. it's not like i'm going to take randy wolf or somebody in return for him.
  7. if i were a member of this league that was looking toward the future, i would probably inquire as to the availability of john danks, who is the 13th best SP in roadkill and has TWO exemptions left. not telling anyone how to do their job or anything. i can't decide which waiver wire pickup i like more...danks (3rd in the AL in era) or the duke (1st in the AL in era).
  8. Yeah I was looking at that and I don't like it. None of the matchups are really bad, but I still don't like it. I need 100 points tomorrow. all of your starters have pretty tough matchups this week, really. I know, but I am trying to be optimistic damn it. Don't have to win, just don't get shelled. I am most worried about Owings tomorrow. Though I am expecting Sanchez to get shelled for you too ;-). not saying that it won't happen...as sanchez is prone to some blow-ups...but he's been pretty much lights out for a while now and the dodgers ain't exactly lighting up the scoreboards. i'm more concerned about the duke facing the white sox and even dempster facing the giants. you're pitchers have faced/will face cws, det, @hou, tb, milwaukee, and the mets. meanwhile, i've faced minn, cleveland, sf, cws, lad, seattle and oakland. those matchups certainly favor me.
  9. Yeah I was looking at that and I don't like it. None of the matchups are really bad, but I still don't like it. I need 100 points tomorrow. all of your starters have pretty tough matchups this week, really.
  10. this week could be decided tomorrow with four starters going for EofT.
  11. Maybe not, but he plays the weakest position on the roster besides C, as a 2b. Utley, Kinsler, Uggla, Roberts, Phillips, Upton, and Pedroia disagree that 2B is a weak position. Guess it's a position of weak value to me. You can find just as many, most likely more, players of that calibur at every other position (minus catcher). yeah, but they don't play 2b.
  12. ankiel was like throw-to-the-backstop wild. when i saw hill in iowa he was like 50% strikes and he wasn't bouncing pitches, throwing it over the catcher's head, etc. ankiel was much worse off than that, if i remember. though hill's last few outings seem to be veering closer to ankiel territory.
  13. but you weren't selling him as exempt!
  14. kelly johnson is available.
  15. towles has homered in three straight at AAA, and liriano threw seven shutout innings (9 k's) yesterday. anytime those guys want to come back up and be productive is fine with me.
  16. i'll trade him back to you if you want, don.
  17. agreed! woo hoo!
  18. there's a difference between "mentioning" the cardinals and throwing full-fledged hissy fits about how it's not fair how lucky they are. but, hey, if that's how people want to spend their summer, i guess that's their right.
  19. not that it's effecting our matchup or anything, but i don't believe billy butler is eligible to be on the minor league roster. also, buddiga's roster is kind of a mess.
  20. instead of whining like pathetic white sox fans about how "lucky" the stupid cardinals are, how about you babies enjoy the cubs' season...after all they have like the best record in the NL. this has been the best cubs season of my lifetime and instead of being able to enjoy it, i come here and have to read you cry babies nitpicking individual plays of the freaking cardinals' season just to see if they are unfairly getting lucky. i mean, seriously, we're sitting here arguing about whether some back up middle infielder is having what you would technically consider a "lucky" season. and if he, is that really fair to the poor cubs??? it's truly pathetic. either all you emo, woe is me cub fans need to get into some other self-hating ritual (cutting perhaps?) or i'm going to have to put you all on ignore.
  21. kelly johnson in for an injured uggla. by the way, is johnson exempt? http://roadkill123.baseball.sportsline.com/players/playerpage/292279
  22. sherrill gives up a two-out, two-strike save-blowing hr for the second day in a row. don't make me pick up trevor hoffman, georgie boy.
  23. Mark Mulder is toast. You forget which team he plays for... :Duncan's Pixie Dust: What teams did he play for the last 3 years? and what did the cardinals give up to get him? hint: a lot.
