    Hitting is by far the most important aspect of any postition player, so there's no distinction there. But it's not the only thing. You don't think a "good" player with below average defense could become a "very good" player with elite defense? not a freaking 1b. Okay, do defense shouldn't be accounted for at all just because he's a 1B? That's basically what you're saying right now. So Jason Giambi and Derrek Lee put up identical numbers next season. By your logic they should both be rated equally even though when is great defensively and one is a nightmare. Nice. someone needs a nap. What is your deal? We're having a conversation and then when you can't defend yourself anymore you change the subject and act like I'm pissy? Kind of interesting. you're acting like a seven year old who missed his nap, that's all. good defense is nice, but i don't super care about it or anything...especially for a 1b.

    how about a current BP guy that kinda sucks? does this decrease the chance of landing hermida? i would guess that if the cubs wanted both they would have worked one deal.

    i'd say the chances peavy is still pitching like an ace while being paid like one is greater than the chances of dempster pitching like an ace while being paid like one.

    slight improvement for hill, i guess. 4 ip, 4 h, 1 er, 3 bb, 4 k, 0 wp. 82 pitches, 52 strikes. two of those walks were back to back in his second inning. one of the hits was an infield single, and matt murton hit him up for a double.

    Knights of Columbus, that hurt. Great contribution to the thread too. Also, glad you could make the assumption that I've only followed the cubs, or more specifically rich hill, since 2007. Would it be better to have a huge freaking internet ego like most of you and just type that I know everything about rich hill, and for that matter, everything? you continue to get upset about people who are not contributing to this thread, apparently unaware that you have not contributed one bit of analysis/info yourself.
