  1. my goodness, don't you people remember last year when the cardinals hung around despite having a team full of scrubs, only to fall apart late in the season and finish below .500 and 7 games out? same thing's going to happen this year, except they'll probably finish 10+ games out. quit whining about the frickin' cardinals...it makes cubs fans look like white sox fans. you know, the fans everyone around here likes to mock for having an obnoxious, unhealthy obsession with their rival?
  2. lieber kinda showed up dempster right there. kinda rude.
  3. bases loaded...does this feel like 9/11 to anybody else????
  4. Arguing that we have had some luck has no bearing on how lucky the Cardinals have been. We've had some players over achieve, and we've had some underachieve. It's hard to find anyone on the Cards roster that is underachieving right now. no it's not. how about chris carpenter? he has zero innings pitched...i'd say that's underachieving.
  5. really? the first place, best record in baseball 2008 cubs remind you of the 96-loss 2006 cubs? sorry, dudes, but it is really, really hard to stomach these threads. try enjoying the season a bit.
  6. Yes, blame fontenot for being short and not patterson for making a lazy play. Great idea. Do you actually think about what you say before you say it? no i dont, stfu lol...take that, roast.
  7. i like the post that said "cardinals have been lucky with pitching," followed immediately by pointing out that carpenter, wainwright and mulder are all hurt. so lucky!
  8. Let's pick one stat to ridicule from the list and ignore every other grossly over-achieving player! Yeah! all of them are stupid! yeah!
  9. remember when the cardinals traded haren (now one of the best pitchers in baseball) and barton (a top prospect at the time, now a producing major leaguer) for mark mulder, who has pitched like four innings (all terrible) for the cards since the trade? pixie dust all over that one.
  10. i mean, jason larue has hit not negative one, not zero, not even one, but TWO homers in the "last few weeks." if that's not 100% proof positive that the cardinals have a deal with baseball satan, i don't know what is. TWO. TWO!!!
  11. omg a guy who hit one hr last year in AAA has two this year? he should only have like 1/2 of a hr based on his AAA hr rate!!! what is with this crazy magic cardinal voodoo???
  12. geez, the cubs and their pixie dust...every player they pick up off the scrap heap turns to gold. luckiest team ever.
  13. well, i certainly didn't intend for that to be a question of his integrity, that's for sure. sorry if it gave that impression. it was more of a knock at fishbulb who apparently doesn't respond to anyone except juan...that's not juan's fault. also, i was joking. the peavy trade is what prompted me to look at his roster...that's how i noticed it. i don't do a daily check of everyone's roster. oh come on...i was 100% joking the entire time with that whole thing. if anyone was taking it serious it was brian, who i apparently offended to the core. if my hijinx in the weekly thread are bringing everyone down so much i'll stop...just trying to liven things up a little bit with the occasional troy percival comment (which i had intended to continue with all season and likely into next season). i'll keep it 100% cordial and business-like from now on.
  14. are we or are we not supposed to police each other? it's not like i'm being an [expletive] about it or anything...i'm not pm'ing juan 20 times a day or calling him up crying. if me pointing out that someone has an illegal roster is making the league less fun, i guess i'm sorry. i don't understand how those of us that respond to trades, tend to our rosters, follow the rules, etc are the ones bringing down the league. i would think that non-responsive owners and people that can't follow the rules on a consistent basis would be the ones that juan would get sick of. and while i wasn't too fond of the peavy trade or fishbulb's selective partcipation, most of my posts on the subjects have been in jest.
  15. damn...danks is looking like a pretty good FA pick-up...especially with his two remaining exemptions. rollins, uggla and fielder have combined for 2.75 points this week. :(
  16. agreed. it would be just like if a guy got brought off the DL mid-week, in my opinion.
  17. yeah, if hill ever gets it together, marquis will be gone. i'm not so sure a completely wild hill is any worse than marquis...
  18. juan, since you're the only one who knows about the magic portal used to communicate with j fishbulb, tell him chipper's not on the DL or cut him off his roster like the rules say you will.
  19. and it's no longer "le douche"...it's "the duke." he's earned it.
  20. don't get all pissy because i said i would scrap together a pitching staff and i did just that. while we're on the subject though, i'm sure gavin floyd will maintain (or probably improve upon) his 1.10 whip. and sheets definitely won't get hurt.
  21. you guys getting all excited about your position in the standings in week 13 is absolutely adorable.
  22. everyone in the league* has a little bit of cubs in them since they haven't won a championship in so long. *except me.
