    Week 22

the hand sanitizers are a buzzsaw...six straight wins. this could have all been avoided had you guys just been willing to slightly overpay for some of my players.

12 starts to choose from and this week doesn't matter. hope there's a few rainouts or something.
  3. fox in rf would not be pretty. though i'm not sure fox anywhere is going to be pretty.
  4. How does a 25 year old, fairly highly touted, Left hander get through waivers? I don't understand how this works. Are all GM's sent a fax when a player is put on waivers? Do they get a call from the league? Email? Maybe he was put on waivers at 3 am or something. I don't know. you really don't think this is how the waiver process works do you?
  5. looks like i've lost my total points lead over nccubs and tb. if i win out it won't matter though.
  6. i can't believe people are entertained by/love zambrano. he's easily one of my least favorite cubs.
  7. doesn't really sound like anything important to me. big deal, some town in florida discussed trying to get the cubs to move there. i just discussed trying to get the cubs to move spring training to my back yard with my brother. we both agree it'd be sweet. anyway, i don't know why you'd want to go from az to florida with all the rainouts and the distance between facilities. i do agree that the cubs park in mesa is BY FAR the worst facility in the cactus league though.
  8. z is slightly funnier than dempster, who is not funny at all.

i'm not one to beg for compliments, but come on you guys, that was a choice cosby show reference.
  10. greinke x2 for todd!

thank you for showing mercy on me, oh mighty one.

boy, someone does not want to face the red hot hand sanitizers in the championship. i'm surprised to see the nine-time champion sweating a third place team in the other division so much.

of course if raw had used all seven of his starts this week, it wouldn't matter.

i don't think robert can promote norris to gain a start this week. he's being brought up to replace the DL'ed cook, who was not going to start again this week. as we've discussed before, you can't use your minor league system as an extended bench.

raw, i beat you head to head both times. for you to get in over me you'd have to finish with a better record...you'd have to finish 3-0 and me 0-3 for you to pass me.

we've discussed this before, and sucking is not a reason for making a mid-week lineup change. obviously you can keep that RP open if you want, but i don't think you can replace gregg with someone else.
  18. right, and choking exists. clutch does not. Both involve the effect of pressure and emotion on the ability to perform. I don't see a big difference. there's a big difference. choking involves playing below your max ability. being clutch involves playing above your max ability, which isn't possible. if derek jeter is able to turn on the clutch for the playoffs, late inning situations, etc and hit .400, he should be able to do that all the time. and he can't.
  19. kyle, just because you don't choke once doesn't mean you're somehow immune to choking for all eternity. come on.
  20. jeez, that was a lot of typing for nothing. there is obviously a difference in pressure between the nlcs and rancho cucamonga. quit making dexter's ridiculous position look good by being even more ridiculous yourself.
  21. this is brutal to watch, you guys. choking exists. whether the cubs choked in '07, '08, i don't know. either way, none of this proves that clutch exists (which it doesn't).
  22. Seriously? There's a discussion in a thread clearly identified and in the right forum. What's your problem with that? if a guy's not on his team on the ps3, he doesn't care about them.
  23. right, and choking exists. clutch does not.
  24. i can't decide what i like best about de la rosa's start. a) that it was on my bench. b) that it was against the cubs. c) that tracy left him in for a hundred and [expletive] twenty five pitches in an eight run game, meaning he'll probably pitch like [expletive] in his next start this week.
