  1. i love how every time this happens it turns into a discussion as to how i'm a giant [expletive]. someone breaks a rule. i say, "hey, that's against the rules." you say, "YOU'RE RUINING THE LEAGUE I'M GOING TO QUIT I'M SO SICK OF DEALING WITH YOU YOU'RE DESTROYING MY LIFE." oh, and robert brings up ben sheets. i wish you guys could see how ridiculous this sounds.
  2. you're even painfully boring when you're arguing.
  3. also, getting pretty sick of the phrase "spirit of the rules." it's just a crutch for people to fall back on when they don't want to follow the existing rules. instead of abiding by a vague, meaningless term that everyone interprets differently how about we just make actual rules like every other fantasy league in the universe.
  4. the last thing we need is more caveats. the rule should be "get your 7 starts however you want." if you want to keep the caveats for position players, fine. though i'd be fine with just allowing daily lineup changes for position players and pitchers. the simpler the rules, the better. that means less [expletive] that i have to pay attention to and less people throwing fits when it's pointed out they are breaking rules.
  5. yeah, i hate to break to you, but you will never sign a single good free agent if you're not going to give them more than 3 years. so you better hope brooks raley or whoever ends up being super awesome.
  6. so they overpaid a good pitcher by like $3 mil/year (in your mind). what a travesty.
  7. fukudome and dempster rank pretty far down on the list of the cubs' "mistakes" over the past few seasons.
  8. and ps, that article is awful.
  9. you may be thinking of jr towles.
  10. No, but if the Indians are getting Kouske pretty much for free we should have gotten something better. I'm not saying their top prospect or anything but something better than the return we're getting now. says you. i kinda doubt hendry just took the first offer from the first team and called it a day.
  11. probably the only way i was going to lose going into yesterday was a no-hitter. so yeah, no-hitter it is.
  12. Buster_ESPN Buster Olney The trade: Colby Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet and P.J. Walters for Jackson, Marc Rzepczynski, Dotel and Corey Patterson.#trades Nice win here for the Jays. Rasmus>>>>>>Cpat WHOA, SLOW DOWN NOW. he's right. i just ran the data...it all checks out.
  13. wright off the DL, bonifacio to OF, zobrist to 2b, weeks to the bench, sizemore to DL. whew.
  14. on the bright side, kennedy, ogando and hanson are a nice trio of exempt pitchers going into next season...
  15. i'm in a tight spot. in sole possession of 2nd right now, but i already have losses to the team in 1st and the two teams tied for 3rd. and the two teams tied for 3rd both have me beat in points. that loss in that stupid ass short week could come back to haunt me.
  16. oh, you're new here...that's adorable though.
  17. which one?
  18. i don't think it's any less arbitrary than just taking turns every year. i've heard people say it would be some kind of injustice if an 83 game winner from the NL central or whatever had home field over a 108 win AL east champ. that could just as easily happen under the old system.
  19. It just alternated, right? It alternated prior to 2003. that's what i thought. so how is that better than letting the ASG determine it? i don't really understand that gripe.
  20. did best record determine HFA in the world series prior to selig changing it?
  21. Me. Bullet. Dodged. :yahoo: yeah, this sucks for me.
  22. all i know is that i've won 8 straight and have gone from tied for next to last in the division to having sole possession of 2nd.
  23. scott sizemore in for disabled chipper, willingham in for injured swisher. go a's.
  24. lol, where is colvin "returning" from...being terrible at baseballville?
  25. i'm trying. hitting .378 for the week and 2 of my 3 starts have been 27+ points. would help if my closers would get in a game or two.
