  1. iowa state could not be [expletive] all over themselves any worse if they were literally [expletive] all over themselves.
  2. that's just weird. you guys must like sports a lot more than me or something.
  3. Yes. i don't know if you're just trying to be the fanningest fan that ever fanned, or if you truly have so little going on in your life that you allow baseball games involving strangers from a decade ago to devastate you. either way, pretty sad.
  4. i'll go so far as to say i don't think it was well-made or anything, which was pretty disappointing. i had heard a lot of good stuff about this being something of a legit movie, but i don't think this was even a good 30-for-30. yeah, i agree. they really padded it with needless stuff to make it last ~2 hours. like i said, the buckner stuff is interesting, but it's probably better served in its own feature. actually both the bartman thing and the buckner thing would be better in a 1 hour format. by far the most interesting stuff was hearing the security lady's account of how he acted/what he said in the aftermath. and the footage of him turning around and asking the other fans if he did something wrong was gut wrenching. and i guess it's a credit to the filmmaker that i felt waaaaay more sorry for bartman than i did angry about the game/series.
  5. and seriously, you guys really are that upset over a baseball game from 8 years ago that you can't even bear to watch this?
  6. this was hard to watch. and not because i'm some type of [expletive] that wants to kill myself over a game involving my favorite baseball team that happened 8 years ago. it is just terrifying that this dude left his house to watch a baseball game and five hours later his life (and his family's) was completely and totally ruined. OVER A FOUL BALL AT A BASEBALL GAME. i don't know whether i think this was a well-made film or anything...the buckner stuff was interesting, but i don't know if it fit with the rest of it.
  7. i can't believe i'm going to still be interested in iowa state in october! this season is a success!
  8. Never. i mean, if the b12 is going to lose one of the handful of second rate texas schools, it may as well be the one with boy cheerleaders dressed as hotel doormen. see you in the independence bowl or whatever the next 14 seasons, weirdos.
  9. No one's work has been good under the Cubs since '02. I have no problem with him leaving, given his age and lack of ties with the team but most likely he does still provide good evaluation skills despite the Cubs as a whole not performing up to par for the last 10 years. He's been bad at his job for 10 years, and you're disappointed to see him go? No, but I'm also not using one interview as the main parameter whether or not, I'm actually happy or sad to see him go. If Maddux or Randy Bush (who I don't like) had done something similar or had Hughes had a better interview, opinions wouldn't be like this. yeah, but hughes didn't have a better interview because the interview reflects his opinion. that's like saying, yeah, but if he had been good at his job instead of bad at his job, he would have been good at his job.
  10. Well here, we're celebrating. Which is unfortunate, he's been good to great at scouting throughout his professional career. It's not his fault that Hendry did not combine his talents with someone well-versed in statistics to view it from an analysis basis as well. Hendry only looked at it from one side ledger. His body of work is far more relevant than one Baseball America interview. this sounds like you're blaming hendry for not hiring a guy to correct hughes' mistakes. and that with someone there to tell him what a terrible job he was doing, hughes would have been really successful.
  11. pretty sad that i'll be jumping for joy if iowa state ends up in the leftover 12 or whatever it will be called. gross.
  12. They're the Rockets. The Mudhens are Toledo's minor league baseball team. oh come the [expletive] on i checked. he's right.
  13. KARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMA
  14. STEELE [expletive] JANTZ
  15. STEELE JANTZ FOR HEISMAN.
  16. shockingly, iowa state just pissing this game away.
  17. 17 starts would lead to some serious dumpster diving with people being shut down, saved for the playoffs, etc. it will be nearly impossible to get 17 starts and keep anything remotely close to a legal roster.
  18. any time you're counting on jeff francis to save your fantasy season, you've got to be feeling pretty good.
  19. yeah, poor texas a&m. i'll keep them in my prayers for sure.
  20. i guess i'm surprised i'm not down by more. down a little over 80, but i have a 4 start advantage. of course my starts consist of starts from assorted vagabonds like harang, francis/ogando, wells and minor. damn jj and hanson for being hurt. you also have a hamels start still to come. i was fully prepared for felix to dominate the angels...i just wasn't accounting for gems from stupid lohse and peavy.
  21. i think he made up for it with 20 1/3 shutout innings from the other three starts.
  22. well, i'd say three starts of ZERO er in one night is about as close as you can get to ending it on a tuesday. wow.
  23. but i like my team.
  24. yep, 50 million people who play fantasy sports with rules are wrong the 15 who play with "spirit of the rules" are right.
  25. or maybe we need rules that are actually followed instead of playing calvinball.
