  1. except that's real baseball and we're playing fantasy baseball. trading off your fantasy team on may 1st so you can maybe do well in 4 years with the prospects you've traded for is [expletive] boring.
  2. sshhh...stop telling people it's a waste of top to build good farm systems. half the league competing to amass the most BA top 100 prospects is how i make the playoffs every year.
  3. you'll be eating your words in 2015!
  4. chuck hasn't managed his team in weeks. well, i got fucked this week. lost by 11 and got screwed out of a start. young got scratched on saturday, so i moved ogando into my lineup for sunday and then he gets scratched.
  5. Well, since you were trying to work a trade with him, it's kind of duplicitous for you to be criticizing making a trade at this point. As for the prospects I got back, Bob would have had to drop them because of roster space anyway, so they just came back to me as filler, essentially. I'll most likely end up dropping them in the future. High ceiling guys, but both have numbers that tell you they're not likely to make it. Miller may be 20 and in A ball, but he's got crazy good stuff and incredible results to match so far. He'll be in AA to end the year. I may get the 1st round pick back, but that doesn't make it meaningless for truffle. He now has two first round picks, a decent exempt pitcher and two of the current top 10-15 prospects in the game. You are full of criticisms - why don't you let us all know what your offer was so that we can judge if yours was "fair"? not really any of your business. and he approached me about the trade/made the offer, not the other way around. i never made an offer...he made me an offer, i said yes, he said he'd get back to me, then he traded with you. guess you should have made a better offer, then. I DIDN'T MAKE AN OFFER. he did. i said yes. then he traded with you. which he is certainly entitled to do. what was my response to his offer supposed to be? "no, i reject your offer, i will give you more than that."

  7. i don't value matusz that much and shelby miller is 20 y/o pitching in A ball. to each his own, but i would never make that trade. not to mention the fact that it's week 5 and bob is what, 1 game out of a playoff spot? i don't really know what his goal is at this point.
  8. my favorite part is tim getting two prospects back. i mean, you have to make it fair for tim...lol. as far as the 1st round pick...it's basically meaningless. i don't know if you guys have noticed, but tim trades players he's not going to keep for 1st round picks every year...he'll obviously get that pick back by trading halladay this winter.
  9. interested to hear what the rest of the league has to say about that trade.
  10. Adding one more reserve spot is not going to make the waiver wire garbage. yes it will. take the top 16 available free agents out of the free agent pool and it will obviously be a worse selection of players.
  11. truffle, to put it a little more succintly... rosters are to be set on monday. no changes to your offensive lineup or bullpen unless there is an injury/demotion to the minors/promotion to the majors. you can make daily changes to your rotation to ensure you get 7 starts. the end. the rule is also that you cannot pick up FA's to fill out your 7 starts during the week, but apparently we're not abiding by that anymore? i brought it up last week and everyone seemed to agree with me except for brian.
  12. the waiver wire would be complete garbage if we allowed extra reserves. add an extra DL spot before we had an extra reserve spot.
  13. can't get a much worse swap than this...
  14. Offer extended. sorry, i need a SP. i have an extra OF as it is.
  15. david wright is also available.
  16. with all these 3b getting hurt, isn't anybody going to make me an offer for chipper/d wright?
  17. that's what it should be, but i think the rule is to eliminate the one that occurs last (for the first offense). go over more than once, and we eliminate the highest one.
  18. Oh, so Zobrist had more points in one day than Carlos Pena and Ian Stewart have all year, combined. You can pick up pitchers in order to get 7 starts for the week. Did he already have at least 7 starts with the pitchers he had, or did he pick them up so that he would be able to get his 7? i don't know, but that has never been the rule as far as i've understood it. ***lineups are to be set on monday.*** you cannot pick up free agents (pitcher or position player) mid-week unless there is an injury.
  19. zobrist had 30+ points that day because they played a DH. shouldn't effect the matchup, but i don't see how rodelo was able to pick up nova and morton midweek and have them make starts for him today. it doesn't look like they were replacing guys who were hurt.
  20. like your mom
  21. um he had a lot more than 29 strikeouts last year. duh.
  22. great start to the week, as i had kennedy's cg/so on the bench. that makes SIX 25+ point starts i've had on my bench through 3 weeks and 1 day. i have enjoyed a -31 start and -27 start, so that's something.
  23. you can take injured guys out of your lineup midweek and replace them with someone from your bench. or a free agent actually. you just can't put them on the DL unless they are actually on the DL.
  24. great start to my week as arguably the worst SP in baseball throws 7 innings of 1 hit, 0 run ball. so that's exciting.
