  1. Might be a good day to give Edmonds off. I know we need the power, but in his limited experience vs. Cain, hes been pretty bad, as he is against lefties in general. But then again, Fukudome Theriot Lee Soto DeRosa Murton Patterson Cedeno Marquis Hurts just to think about it.
  2. The Brewers will have their hands full with the D-Backs, bu the Mets have gone from underperforming to legitamately bad. If The Cubs want to distance themselves any from the Cardinals, they're going to have to do it themselves this weekend.
  3. Last night, they said Omar Vizquel was 2 for his lat 40something. Maybe its time to hang em up?
  4. That's up to .360/.520/.570 after last night. Looking at his splits, there's not a single one with OBP < .500. If he had enough PA's to make the league leaders (he's had 3 stints on the DL), he'd be 2nd in AVG, 1st in OBP and OPS, 4th in SLG. I don't care what he's hitting, the boy's got to work on his versatility ability before I'd even consider adding him to the major league bench. If he can't play CF or 2B, he's nothing to me. They need to do something with him. At 27-28, hes well past his prospect years. He might interest some team as a throw in in a trade, but he has little value as anything else, unless he's content as a career Tennesee Smokie.
  5. Marquis pretty good against the Giants in his career, going 4-0 with an ERA in the 2s. We need a decent start from him, as it is July, and his complete collapse is just around the corner.
  6. Ugh, it's on the Chiefs web site too. Elbow pain isn't good. RHPs Jose Pina and 2008 draftees Jay Jackson join Peoria. Also, RHP Blake Parker goes from Iowa to Daytona. I just hope were not looking at the second coming of Angel Guzman.
  7. I was only able to stay up for 3 innings, but that was enough to see first hand that Barry Zito isnt just a guy whose hit a streak of bad luck, hes gone the Dontrelle Willis rout, and I dont think he'll be coming back.
  8. You know that thing The Cubs did last night? You know, the one where they scored more runs than the other team? That was pretty cool. I'd like to see it again.
  9. I don't get the constant demeaning of Sox fans. We sound like them, when they call us a bunch of dumb drunks. We need to stop worrying about the Sox, let alone what we think their fans are like. Some of my Sox friends are good people, nothing like what you describe. If you add the word "mullet" anywhere in that sentence, though, and you might have a Cards/Braves fan. weve had our own share of morons running out on the field.
  10. I gave up on that game after the 3rd.

It shouldnt matter if we won 3-0 at home 0-3 there, the wins it what matters. If we see them again in October, so be it. If not, see ya next year.
  12. The Rockies??? The Rockies are on the list and the Dodgers, but the Marlins fall in "the rest"? Maybe the Marlins should get some consideration, but I cant tell if their for real or just capitilizing on the crap fest that is the NL East. And the Rockies are 18 games below .500 and play in the NL Worst.. I mean West. Yes, they suck this year, I get it, But talent wise, you cant deny that they're up there.
  13. Kyle Lohse. Seriously. Chicago Cubs 1996 198th round draft pick Kyle Lohse.
  14. The Rockies??? The Rockies are on the list and the Dodgers, but the Marlins fall in "the rest"? Maybe the Marlins should get some consideration, but I cant tell if their for real or just capitilizing on the crap fest that is the NL East.
  15. When is Reed Johnson oficially eligible to come off the DL? As far as we know, will he be back the first day he can?
  16. The Rockies??? Did I say the Rockies? Sorry, I meant The Rockies. They're under .400, but they're healthy. watch out.
  17. Maybe the fact is that The Cardinals are nothing special, but the National League is full of nothing specials. IMHO, there is no other team in the NL thats on the same level as the Cubs are when healthy, as the Mets were in 2006, only we have a better pitching staff than they did. Cubs D-Backs Rockies Phillies Brewers Cardinals Dodgers The Rest
  18. Theriot > Cedeno Lee > Nevin Soto > Barrett DeRosa < Ramirez Edmonds > Pierre Murton < Murton (06) Cedeno > Perez OK, just making sure that we are still better than our 2006 lineup Fukudome > Jones Cedeno=Perez
  19. Wow, that was awful.
  20. Cards already getting on Maine. One of the ESPN anouncers did however refer to the Cubs, Angel, Red Sox, and Rays as being the 4 teams that stand out above everyone
  21. Time for the Muts to remind Kyle Lohse and the Cardinals why nobody wanted him in the offseason.
  22. I cant wait until the get the hell over yourself, its a joke option is added. You'll be the first. This makes less sense than the defensive indifference rule in baseball. Just my way of telling this character to get over himself, it's a joke, but since he put me on ignore, he'll never get the message. Here ya go Wekse. lol...so wait...if someone puts you on ignore you get confirmation of the action? And I respect that. If you have a problem with another poster, thats what the ignore options for, rather than carrying on about everything that poster posts all night long. Im sure some people see where Im going with this. Back to the game now. I just hope that we can get the 2007 Ted Lilly who was counted on to stop the bleeding. We need this game. we need this series. Last year, we were the only NL team that didnt figure Zito out, but then again, we couldnt figure out most lefties last year.
  23. Sounds like he'd qualify based on the time frame, but without specific details being announced it's hard to know whether his reason for leaving would qualify. My guess is that it would, because I don't think the Cubs would have allowed him to leave for a lesser reason given the current injury problems with other players. Isnt Reed Johnson getting activated Wednesday anyway? Someones going to Iowa then anyway, so its kind of silly to bring someone up for 2 games, of which they may or may not see any action.
