  1. Well color me intrigued. Its not like we have any Gamels or Laportas in our system., so its good to have someone.
  2. Holy hell, The Creature is OPSing 1.124. Why to our minor leaguers taunt us like this.
  3. Im usually fairly up on my Cubs prospects, at least the productive ones, but heres one Peoria Chief who has never came up on my radar until now. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Smith%20%203B&pos=&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=456673 Kind of a cool name too. I mean in a subtle way, not in a Rebel Ridling in your face kind of way.
  4. I cant help but notice I havnt heard the name Jay Bruce lately.
  5. If we're willing to move Gallagher, Veal, and then some, we could land CC. It all depends on how valuable the future is vs. ending the drought.
  6. Valid point Cubs have gotta land CC though, that's the key move, IMO. The report is that the Brewers are willing to move Gamel but not Laporte. If were willing to deplete our farm system, we can get him. The Brewers know CC will just be a rental so they'll be careful with what they give up. Maybe the same with us, but we have more at stake, with a better chance of being able to keep him around. Depending on what they add to Gamel, I doubt we can compete with that. If they deal Gamel and Escobar along with another piece, that's just more than we can match. Theres always the chance that the Yankees, Red Sox, or Rays can swoop in and steal him away.
  7. Valid point Cubs have gotta land CC though, that's the key move, IMO. If only we had drafted a good player at the number 3 spot last year. Then maybe we could try and get C.C. As it stands right now. The Brewers have much more to offer. It sucks that Josh Vitters has already proven to be a huge bust and will never amount to anything.

  9. God forbid we should gain some ground on anyone. Not gaining ground > Losing ground I'll take that I've been satisfied with breaking even for too long now. If the Brewers land Sabathia, a 4.5 game lead on them is not going to be enough. If the Brewers land Sabathia, and Sheets remains healthy they'll win the division. Unless we can swing a deal of our own.

  12. It's not the players' fault that their GM can't assemble a good team. Who blamed the players? They wasted big bucks on Zito. end of story. Sabean's obsession with older vets is/was the biggest problem. The Zito signing just added to the problem, imo. The problem was when the relied on Bonds and his home run record chase just to fill the seats and surrounded him with mediocre players, and when his era came to an end, they were surpirsed they didnt have a team anymore.

  14. its almost cute watching the Giants fans act like they just won game 7 of the world series every time their miserable team gets a hit. It must be nice to have such simple goals.
  15. YES DAMN YOU AND GIVING UP BLOOP SNGLES AND THEN FALLING DOWN ONA BUNT. YOU'RE A DISGRACE AND ARE NEVER GOING TO BE ANYTHING IF YOU CAN'T AVOID BLOOP SINGLES AND QUESTIONABLE FIELDING. BOOOOOO THIS MAN Sorry Mrs. Ascanio I didnt know you were in here. Im glad you got a second chance to say the same thing. btw. im watching this on gamecast so its kind of hard for me to judge fielding skills. Careful there, you might wind up on the dreaded foes list.
  16. Why, because he allowed a bloop single and then got caught in between on a bunt? there you go again, responding to a poster who should be on your foes list. Cant help but be amused by people who use the "foes list" as a threat.
  17. Lets hope this is vintage Marmol coming in and not the trash baller we've seen the past few weeks.
  18. Big inning here for Gallagher. between this inning, and Marshalls upcoming performance Sunday, it could be the difference between Iowa and Chicago.
