Its got to be Patterson going down. The only thing he has on Murton is speed. Murton has a beter bat, and while he may not be the best fielder in the world, hes not a complete incompetant like the alternative. Or else they couls get rid of both and bring up Hoff. Or keep both and waive Cedeno. You may be right that they'll choose Murton over Patterson, but they could see it that a RH bat is coming back, so a RH bat is going down. As far as Cedeno and Hoffpauir. Cedeno stays until there is someone else who can back-up SS. Since neither Hoffpauir, Murton, or Patterson can do that, Cedeno stays. His spot is safe unless we trade for a bench SS at the deadline. Hoffpauir is out because the Cubs aren't enamored with his defense and we already have one slow defensively challenged lefthanded hitter on the roster. I wouldnt mind Cedeno so much if he were simple a defensive replacement and a bat at the end of the bench. Hes probably not much worse than others of that kind. I just cant take him in the starting lineup anymore. Has Gerald Perry just completely given up on trying with him?

So does this mean that Gallaghers left out in the cold and on his way back to Iowa, or will Lou dispatch a reliever, Cotts or Ascanio and hes just giving Marshall another shot? COuld he be going with an extra pitcher until Soriano returns? -
Pitchers seem to have picked up on the fact that once they get 2 strikes on him, which happens more often than not, hes going to try and foul off everything and anything. It seems that after the first few fouls, they just have to throw something out of his reach, and he'll whiff right through it, wherever it may be.

We need to see Gemster tonight. If we can win this game, The Royals of all teams proved that Linecum is beatable, so we can still take this series 3-1. The bats need to wake the hell up. And when is Hoffpauir eligible to come back? While he is identical to Ward as a lefty power bat with limited athletic ability, Id rather him than Cedeno or Patterson. Or Fontenot or Murton.

The one good thing about losing a Marquis start is trashing Marquis, but tonight, hes the one player on the team who doesnt deserve it. Go figure.

Come the hell on. Its getting late, and the Cubs look lifeless and are giving this guy the start of his career. This lineup isnt what anyone envisioned going into the season, but it should be good enough to scrape a few rus across the plate.
