  1. They were giving a courtesy cheer as he was being helped off the field. Even the biggest rivals arent going to openly cheer a player getting hurt. Granted, I doubt they were crying in their Velveeta over it, nor were we when Chris Carpenter or Ryan Ludwick went down, but they werent cheering that a guy went down in excruciating pain.
  2. TARP funds the banks who finance the transaction. The transaction allows the Cubs to get Peavy. This allows the Cubs to win more games. Which spurs higher ratings on TV for Cubs games, more Cubs jersey sales, etc Which creates jobs. And also more income for people to buy more Peavy jerseys. This is exactly what TARP is for! Jake Peavy is the cure for our economic crisis. Possibly the swine flu. Not trading for him would be an injustice.
  3. 3 perfect 5 K innings for Kevin Hart. Looks like hes remembering how not to be completely awful.
  4. I knew he had an NTC, I didn't realize we were giving out NDLCs. he also has an NGOUHWO(No games off unless he wants one)
  5. Guess who hit his 17th home run and got his 49th RBI? Yeah, that guy.
  6. he's 19 and in low A ball. I wasnt being serious.
  7. Josh Vitters is saying forget about Scales, Fontenot, Freel or whatever garbage is lined up to take over 3rd. This is my time.
  8. Hitler was resilient. He wasn't particularly focused though, and while he pretty much rolled through the regular season, he pretty choked big time when the bright lights started to shine. Plus Hitler didnt have the ability to blind his enemy with a barage of quoted posts.
  9. How AL GMs havnt approached Hendry about Fox is beyond me.
  10. Sucks for the Crew, but I dont feel bad at all. As far as the relevent teams in the NL Central go, the Cubs and Cards have suffered much bigger losses. If the Brewers dont mind a horrible defense, they can move Bill Hall to 2nd and Gamel to 3rd and still have a great offense,. assuming that Gamel can hit in the majors.
  11. The new guys usually back down after being attacked from multiple directions. Got to respect the resilience.
  12. Im torn on thi game. Id like to see the Cardinals pushed into oblivion, but the again, I need proof that the Brewers are in fact beatable.
  13. Im really not sure why they would lock it, as it could become a reality once the sale is final, but I guess thats not my decision.
  14. If its essentially a done deal, and only formalities are in the way, cant he give Hendry the go ahead to get the deal done?
  15. Now that the sale is supposedly near completion...
  16. Friedn of mine said he saw C Patt playing at Syracuse or something. He looked absolutely lost at the plate.
  17. I really thought we were going to pull this one out. Oh well, nobody wins em all, except of course the Brewers. 4-1 Home stand not shabby by any means.
  18. With Ankiel and Ludwick out of the equation, we should treat Pujols like we should have treated Adrian Gonzalez. Theres no reason not to take at least 2-3 in this series.
  19. Id love to see how this ends, but I guess Im off to WWE something or other at the Allstate. About 10 years ago Id be psyhed. these days, my friend had free tix and I said what the hell.
  20. if the alternatives are ryan freel and aaron miles then you might as well just let fontenot work his way through his struggles. neither freel nor miles are going to hit much, and fontenot at least has shown in the past that he can hit. There are other options, unsigned options, but Id hate to beat the same drum again.
  21. The only useful purpose Fox could serve on this team is as a DH in the upcoming interleague games, but something tells me Micah Hoffpauir would get the nod over him. Right now, he doesn't have the chops to play 3B, we already have two viable options at 1B, and the OF is cluttered. Remember how bad Ryan Braun was at 3B for the Brewers and how much that hurt them? Fox deserves a chance, but I just don't see how he can fit on this roster. Moreover, there's no guarantee he'd carry over his success from Iowa to the majors. Hes not going to hit .430 with a 1.400 OPS, but as good as hes been, I find it hard to believe he wont be able to do anything at the big league level.
  22. Offense can't pick up the bullpen every day, unfortunately. In this case, its Harden they're trying to pick up, although Ascanio didnt help much.
  23. Fox is mediocre at best at 1B. Something tells me he's not going to be a world-beater at 3B. So you dont think that Fox at least deserves a chance? The guy just wont stop mashing in Iowa. Give him a chance. If he cant cut it, I dont see Freel as a huge loss, and even if they dont want to give up on him, send Feelgood Bobby Scales down, and if Fox is that horrible, Scales is still available.
