  1. We just need to accept that this could be a dog fight to the end, much like 2007, but unlike 2007 its not 2 mediocre teams fighting to back door their way into the playoffs and it should take >95 wins to take this.
  2. If the Rox would give up Atkins for DeRo, surely we could put together something for Atkins. Atkins literally looks like a player at the end of his career, yet his age tells otherwise. I don't think he will be contributing much this year... .194/.266/.302, and thats in Colorodo. I knew he was struggling, but I didnt relise how bad. Then again, hed fit right in with the rest of our lineup.
  3. Why isnt anyone talking trade? The Mets lose Delgado for 10 weeks and they're already weighing all their options. Meanwhile, we lose Aram, whose more important to us than Delgado is to them and were trying to plug in a bunch of journeymen to fill the void. It aint going to work.
  4. Does the minor leagues have a players union, because I cant see them allowing that.
  5. I predict I bring up Jake Fox during the game after Fontenot and Scales/Miles/Freel play more horrible baseball and Keener goes off on an [expletive] filled rant that would make Ozzie Guillen blush.
  6. I really cant see this deal happening without Gordon Beckham, Clayton Richard, and either Gavin Floyd or John Danks involved, especially after they wouldnt send him to Atlanta without getting one of the top 3 pitching prospects in the game. And it would also send the Hendry hate skyrocketing through the roof, but then again, it could be a blessing in disguise, as it could get us on track to trading for what we really need, and thats a 2B or 3B who can hit without worrying about giving up pieces for the Peavy deal.
  7. I guess it comes down to a bad offense vs. a struggling offense. Tony knows he has a bad offense, and he works around his one good hitter and makes them play small ball around him. Lou, on the other hand has a bunch of good hitters in funks, and in order to get them to get out of the funks want them to all swing for the fences. Maybe we shoul try some small ball tomorrow. Hell, out with Font and Scales, in with Miles and Freel.
  8. Marshall pitches 6 solid innings of 1 run ball. Sadly, its not enough.
  9. I agree with this statement except for Scales. Scales ceiling is probably a utility guy, which is fine, but we are going to need to be starting him 3-5 times a week until Aram gets back and I don't think he's capable of being a close to everyday guy. Well, if you can ignore his age, he was obliterating AAA before his call up. the .885 OPS isnt exactly obliteration.
  10. I agree with this statement except for Scales. When Z comes back, how about we DFA Miles, put Fonty back on the bench, and try Scales @ starting 2B? I don't understand what's up with Fontenot. There was every reason to think he'd hang around a 775-825 OPS this season. How about we aquire a second baseman or a third baseman? Even is scales does make in in the majors, he is not a starter. never will be.
  11. It's also only May 20th. Youve been a member since 2005. Do you still think you'll be able to get those ready to call it a season down from the lefge?
  12. I just dont understand that when your 2 options are a guy who cant hit righties and a switch hitter who will have to come into the game next inning why youd go with the guy who cant hit righties.
  13. Forget about Adam Wainwright, these guys couldnt hit Rufus Wainwright,
  14. Why not bat Hill who would have to come in to catch anyway?
  15. Oh good, a fake rally. And Ryan Freel picks up where Joey Gathright left off.
  16. In hindsight, had I known it would be the last runs the Cobs woukd score all season, I would have savored Sundays fake rally more than I did.
  17. So should we expect a fake rally or another roll over? Im going to go with roll over.
  18. Somebody had to post a post about how the Cardinals were a minor league lineup before this series. Sometimes you should just bite your tongue and not tempt fate. they have 5 runs in 2 games. They are going to sweep us with said 5 runs. Theyre going to beat us the next 2 games without scoring a run? I guess they could find a way.
  19. he looks like an anime character Skis new favorite player.
