I don't think it would be a disgrace to the team at all. I think the city would be the ones in disgrace for not being able to work out a deal with an owner who is willing to foot the entire bill for the project. Having a stadium butting up against O'Hare would blow. There are multiple runways within a couple hundreds yards of the described location. It would also likely cost the team roughly $1B to build a new stadium worth building, even if they get the land for free.
I hate blocking tight ends. Everytime they target one they end up with a guy who isn't that good at blocking. By the time they pay a new blocking TE, are they going to save a whole lot over what they would've paid Spaeth? They probably never should have gone after Spaeth in the first place.
Well, why don't they equal talent? For one, they can equate to how close to the majors a player is. Also, they equate to what rules apply to the player. A guy like this, without restrictions, is going to get more than a guy who falls under the restricted category and is much more talented. Circumstance plays a very big part.
Scouts sitting behind me said, " that's hard to do", in reference to the pitcher issuing the walks. From my view I as impressed with him laying off. Good bad we had a flight and missed the walk off.
Please no. No Cutler = no win. Maximize the team around Cutler and draft a QB mid-round in the next couple years but don't spend money on veterans backups.
They don't exactly turn over the roster season over season. And they do make moves in the middle of the season. This has essentially been the same team for quite a while now.
Wait, the article was more "angry at the details" than what Jersey said.... Well, I didn't READ anything prior to what Jersey said. I was more about the joke. I mean, who needs context? That said, I'd like to bail gracefully at this point since now I feel dumb. I saw nothing.
I don't understand his sentiment at all. He's way off. A team's point totals matter in any one season because that is how seasons are judged. An individual's goals scored in one season count when judging who won a scoring title for that specific season. But nobody is giving the Blackhawks extra points toward this season's standings based on what happened last season. A streak is just a random phenomena that has no bearing on any one season in and of itself. If the streak started last year and continued this year it continues. Nobody gets a trophy for it (although knowing the Blackhawks they will probably have a 2-hour ceremony where they present everybody with a picture of the Stanley Cup).
Even that is a convoluted stat. What does it matter if the game was played in a Blackhawks uniform. That isn't an accomplishment. It's a nice long career, but in a league where guys often play for 5-6 teams it's really only noteworthy when somebody like Brodeur plays his 1000th for the same team. There's like 30 active guys with more games played. Plus, they gave him a picture of him with the cup from three years ago that he probably already has. Did somebody run out to the collectibles store and pay $75 for that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NHL_players_with_1000_games_played
