I thought the team was ill prepared and unmotivated. They looked dead on the sidelines.
This is Poles’s team and so far it is not promising.
while I do not believe this scenario is likely, think for a minute of the opportunity they’d have with two top 5 picks this offseason. If somehow the Bears’ own pick is top five, this season is a disaster. That would mean Ryan Poles took a subpar Ryan Pace team and made it much worse.
Two top five picks in an offseason with a ton of cap space is a once in a lifetime opportunity to set things straight. Nothing about what he’s done tells me Ryan Poles would be able to take advantage of that opportunity.
If this team finishes 2023/24 as a bottom 5 team, that is on Poles and he has to go. At this point I’d trust Kevin Warren to hire a better GM that could turn things around if it gets to that point.
