  1. apparently he was saved by some weird grounds rule where there is a chalked out "out of play" area that the catcher was standing in when he caught a foul pop up.
  2. Vogelbach is back at the plate with a man on 3rd. Deep to center, homerun
  3. It would have to be an injury settlement, given his concussion. But I do think he may not be around much this year.
  4. I see a reference to him batting 5th in game 2.
  5. Daytona Cubs ‏@daytonacubs 48m @juiceboxjerry It is possible that he'll be available for game two. His flight arrived later than Vogelbach's.
  6. I think most on here reasonably expect Bryant to get to AA at some point next year but I doubt many others, if any at all, expect him to see any time above that. I don't think any of us expect his "clock to start" until sometime in 2015 and I think there's a decent chance he will still be have rookie status in 2016 (which is the first year I expect him to see significant time/start the season out of ST with the team). I could easily see him not only start in AA, but get a promotion to AAA next season, and spend a significant amount of time with the big team in 2015.
  7. jesus that sounds tedious
  8. Huh? A quick promotion to MLB might not be in the organization's best interests. But a promotion that doesn't start the service time "clock" would not conflict with that. I don't think many people think he's going to start next year in the majors.
  9. More like we just Olt to give up on him already.
  10. The big boys finally brought the sunshine.
  11. Good for him but I hope he concentrates on baseball, and uses protection. So you're saying he should wear a raincoat???? YES BUT NOT FOR RAIN!
  12. For some reason Dejesus is in left and Lake is in center tonight.
  13. What did he use, 5 wood? That swing is ridiculous.
  14. Might just be wishful thinking on the part of a Boise sports reporter though. I doubt the playoffs would factor into the front office's decision, if that's what he's implying. Yeah, that would be a weird reason to stop a college player from moving up from short season to A+. That's an important and necessary step, and just keeping him around to enjoy a Boise playoff run is something only a Boise specific homer is going to think about.

  16. http://itsaboutthemoney.net/archives/2013/08/12/the-all-homegrown-mlb/ The homegrown only teams, which obviously winds up being a really awful cubs team.
  17. That is a big if. How does Rizzo's bat rate as a mediocre at best defensive LF?
  18. That sucks, I don't see the problem with having a surplus of talent, but I guess with finite resources it makes sense to not overload at a position you have a 'cornerstone' signed to a long term deal already. It's also the position where you are that, or nothing. You generally don't shift 1B around the field. Having 2 of pretty much everything else is manageable.
  19. I'll be here all week, remember to tip your waitresses.
