  1. Why would Houston do that?
  2. They don’t have to exercise his 5th year option. He’s under contract for 2024. If they don’t get the top guy in the draft, whoever they do get can compete with Fields. I prefer QBs start as backups. Probably half the first round flameouts turn to crap because of circumstances rather than ability. Make the team better. Don’t force QBs to carry your team until they are established stars.
  3. They don’t have to commit much to bring back fields next year. He’s due very little money in the final year of his contract. They could end up with 2 high picks but not top two and in that scenario you’re probably better off drafting blue chippers early and a later round qb. Make the team better every year and churn through QBs until you find one.
  4. Cutler broke his thumb
  5. Belichik did make Brady. Brady wasn’t Brady for his first 5-6 seasons. If he played in a stinker organization there is no telling what kind of success he’d have. Eventually the pupil outpaces the master, but Brady was not self made.
  6. I sure as hell never though Trevor was in that category.
  7. Shut your cake hole Tommy boy

  8. It’ll be fun to see Pittsburgh miss the playoffs again
  9. Sure it’s an accomplishment, but it was pretty much determined a long time ago that he was making the roster. Beat writers have talked since before the draft about the strategy of burning his entry level contract. He can’t go to Rockford, so unless they wanted to send him back to WHL they were keeping him to start. They don’t care about wins and are making this a developmental year, and it’s fairly common for guys to make the nhl roster within one season after they are top 10 picks. it’ll be noteworthy if he stays up for 10 games.
  10. While I fully expect this team to stink, I have to wonder what they could possibly do at the trade deadline. Hall could be an obvious trade target for a contender, but will they get rid of Bedard’s partner? Andreas Athanasiou might wind up putting up decent numbers playing with Reichel, but the contract they gave him is untradeable. a couple other guys might net them a late round pick, but I think the deadline is gonna be a dud by and large. the one caveat is if Reichel does thrive and they feel he can slot into Bedard’s line.
  11. It’s really weird that people tried to make that a story, that he made the team. He was penciled into the opening night roster all summer long. The question is whether or not he stays.
  12. A competent veteran QB has to lose to this bears team before I will believe it is possible.
  13. MLB really screwed the pooch getting rid of the one game play ins. This stuff is a bore
  14. I’d embrace that hesitancy a bit more
  15. It’s like receiving pleasure and giving pleasure at the same time
  16. It’s funny to use boxing to support idea that sports are fixed when everybody knows boxing is so easily fixed. It’s basically decided by 6 individuals and any one of them can screw with the outcome via shenanigans. the draft wasn’t fixed. The Blackhawks were really bad and therefore had some of the best odds to win it.
  17. Conditional 4th at best i imagine
  18. try and trade fields to the jets
