  1. I think we're looking at the franchise tag, with a short-term offer on the table that Cutler won't take until after the draft shakes out. If they get their first choice, they will let him walk. If they settle on their second or third choice, they will keep doing the franchise tag thing and try and pressure him into an accepting what is his last best chance at a big deal that is well below the standard.
  2. I'd wait until week 12 or 13 before thinking about pretending we can figure out how these teams will shake out.

  4. They would have had just as easy as a time running the ball but would have also been able to pass. They slipped down the field like a hot knife through butter that first time. I have no idea how anybody can think he wouldn't have shredded them. That defense is abysmal.
  5. I really liked this Gruden quote. Everybody involved in the broadcast seemed to misspeak on several occasions, mixing up the Bears and Packers and their respective players. Weirding out about the late penalty and how it "saved a timeout" for GB and other stuff.
  6. Speculation was a couple more weeks.
  7. How does somebody get into baseball late? If I wasn't obsessed with baseball as a kid in the 80s I probably never would have paid attention in my teens.
  8. Sweet slate of non-Sunday primetime games.
  9. Belichick against Manning only other time I can think of. Didn't work then. I was happy about the decision to go for it although not so thrilled about the actual play call. Thank god it worked, though. Huge, huge win for the Bears last night. Things seem a little bit better when you have scoreboard over the Packers, especially at Lambeau. I was scared to death about going for it and probably would have chickened out myself, but the play call was good. There was no way they were gaining anything up the middle.
  10. gooney saw it coming What? Is this about the silly thinking that what the offense did yesterday was shocking? Because it wasn't shocking. Anybody who pretends it was just hasn't paid attention to the Bears this season. That was going to be a high scoring loss until Rodgers went down. Instead it was a medium scoring win. McCown barely completed 50% of his passes and was under 300 yards with 2 touchdowns. It was against a weak pass defense and they still relied on Matt Forte very heavily. And why do people put an "e" in there?
  11. Agreed. Before this game I thought the Bears were destined for 6-10, 7-9. Now I think they could finish anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6 Naw, they were never going to finish that bad with the teams left on the schedule. 8 wins was probably the minimum, even with McCown playing multiple games. The issue for me was always winning this and the next game. If they didn't win 1, the season was over basically. Yeah, the question was playoff hopes or drafting in the middle again.
  12. Not really. Offense performed as expected. The story was Rodgers. You expected the Bears to put up 27 points and McCown to go for 270 and 2 TD's on the road? More or less. The offense is good and the defense is bad. I expected a 40-24 type loss.
  13. Not really. Offense performed as expected. The story was Rodgers.
  14. It helps when you have an oc, line and receivers.
  15. Yeah yeah, but still? They would have been slaughtered with Rodgers in there. They got gashed on the ground with no threat of a passing game. They won because Rodgers was out. Plain and simple. But a win is a win.
  16. Yay for Seneca Wallace not being good
  17. Haven't been called, committed is an entirely different thing.
  18. Horrible [expletive] hold call It's been loose most of game and then that nonsense? That's like kyles wife banging the neighborhood but shunning the pool boy.
  19. According to ESPN Marshall has to be a calming influence on his young qb and he hasn't played well vs the bears.
  20. We know it's not complicated. What that is is depressing. Depressing, sad and pathetic. Plus, inexcusable.
  21. Lovie! Heard he was interviewing for the USC job. No joke. Lovie denied those rumors, said he had no clue where the report came from, and said he's not interested. Maybe those fake USC representatives are still on the loose. Lovie denied the first round of rumors a couple weeks ago. I have not heard a denial of this past weekend's rumors.
  22. I've had that thought about a dozen times this past week and just as I'm about to show my work I call myself crazy and stop. Tampa almost beat Seattle on the road. Anybody can beat anybody in this league. The Packers are not the best team out there and the Bear are not the worst, so there is a greater than zero chance of them winning. I just don't think they will.
