  2. Feeling and fleeing is completely different from feeling and stepping up or to the side. It is not the same.
  3. I believe they will draft somebody mid-draft and then sign a vet or two to compete over the summer for a chance to back-up.
  4. Jay is looking good.
  5. Jay Cutler is not Mark Prior. There is no point getting hung up on the health issue. But you will never by 100% sure about the health of any NFL player. He's played 15 or 16 games in five of the seven seasons he has been a starter. And let's not forget that despite what the horrible announcers said on Sunday, the offensive line was still not good this year. They weren't as bad as they've been, but they were not good. They can do a much better job of keeping him healthy.
  6. Zaidman too afraid to tweet the word, "wuss".
  7. For one, the point is that you are set at QB and don't have to consider overdrafting a QB early this year because of the instability. Cutler has not missed that much time before. Why is this an issue? He's missed a similar percentage as Rodgers. He's no different than other QBs with regards to health. The next point is completely pointless since the Cutler situation was so incredibly unique, and since we already have Cutler we wouldn't want to give up 2 first round picks for a new guy. And finally, "if the 2 sides know what is going on" means that Cutler's side knows the Bears want to wait until the last possible moment to sign him because they would love the opportunity to replace him, which is how the Bears got him in the first place. Cutler's side wasn't going to be happy with a situation where they were willing to sign a reasonable deal but the Bears wanted to wait because Drew Brees might break his neck and miraculously sign with the Bears 2 years later. Also, who are all these elite QBs you speak of that could theoretically wind up on the Bears? Eli? Flacco? Tom Brady at the end of his career? Peyton Manning doing it again? Stafford? Rivers? Who is it you are holding out for that will theoretically be available?
  8. I was trying to think of what nonsensical thing you would be up to that you couldn't watch the game but could follow this website when I remembered the games may be blacked out this weekend. That would be great. Serves the league right for letting the Packers win.
  9. I think it was Wilford Brimley It was Telander, not Morrisey. Yeah, it was Telander's face I was picturing with the voice but Morrissey's name that popped into my head.
  10. What's the point? If the deal is for $22m/year then sure, I want to wait to see more for that deal. But if the deal is well below the peak numbers out there, then waiting isn't going to help get that. Emery said it best when talking about the 100+ games under his belt. Jay isn't a 2nd year player, nor is he a 35 year old who had 4 good games this year. He's got a resume that deserves the contract.
  11. Whoa. Is that Rick Morrisey calling out Jay for having diabetes? Or was it Telander?
  12. One thing somewhat ignored was the implicit statement to McCown, "Sure, go ahead and find a big contract on the open market." They know his success was completely about time and place. If somebody wants to pay him, let them do it.
  13. They are. Emery has really impressed me, as goofy as he is.
  14. Jon Heyman comments on football now?
  15. I thought it was just reported that it was the plan. I've been sick for three days though so maybe I imagined it.
  16. Unless Dallas won't let him leave.
  17. Maybe wants to have Frazier in place before anything. If Lovie can't get Marinelli out of Dallas I could see him pushing for Frazier.
  18. They really focused hard on poor special teams discipline.
  19. Yep. They didn't want to fire him at this press conference. Put the onus on themselves and then make the change next week.
  20. You can't have this PC and not explicitly state that coordinators will or will not return.
  21. "on the defensive side, when I went into Phil..."
  22. "Marc, will Mel Tucker return as defensive coordinator?" "What? Oh god no. Did I not mention that? Yeah, he's gone."
  23. That's what I said Lisa, Foilage.
  24. There's not much value in announcing you are switching to a 3-4. For one, it will change how other teams evaluate your likely draft moves, and it will effect free agent negotiations. ANOTHER ROLLY COASTER
