http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-marc-trestman-backup-quarterback-job-20140327,0,166407.story spoiler alert, Trestman uses a lot of words without really saying anything.
The whole thing looks bizarre; everyone looks like they're wearing trash bags, Ruth's mechanics are hideous and he's basically lunging out of the batter's box and the catcher is practically standing up. Can you imagine the "go back to your mother's basement with this mechanics talk" mentality that had to be prevalent at some point?
It's perfectly possible for the Cubs to construct the team in the upcoming years in such a way that they are both wildly successful and that Barney remains their best option for starting in the middle infield. Possible yes, likely no. Best option, absolutely not. Just stop.
Sounds like that would be a nightmare for Kyle. Nah. I don't think he's that good either. I just think it'd be funny to spite the ridiculous people who think he's worse than Donnie Murphy because they arbitrarily decided that peripherals don't count anymore. So you'd cut off your nose to spite your face. Again, dumb.
I would say Rizzo in the 3-hole, but with the lack of power in the lineup I'd assume that they'd want him to be their main cleanup guy. I don't think they worry about things like "main cleanup guy".
Now I hope he bats leadoff. You wanna press for more? Sure, he is a bad player who makes a lot more than the minimum and will only get more expensive as he gets worse. Wanting him here for three more years and batting him leadoff makes you an idiot and/or a person who wants to see the Cubs lose as much as possible.
