I don't think a floating day off is all that feasible. What does some more realistic to me is that you just price in the risk of the rainout and the potential good fortune of buying a Game 2 ticket that turns into an Opening Day ticket when setting pricing. It's silly to me that the main justification for the off day is that people pay more for that ticket, as if they don't control what the tickets cost too. Yeah, I don't think it could work, and I really don't think it needs to. They spend 6 months playing games on the vast majority of days. A week from now we aren't going to be thinking of the off day. As to "pricing in the risk" for the game 2, I do not see how that would work, since the two things working against each other is nobody cares about going to game 2 and sales are always much lower for that game, so increasing the price of those tix for the off chance that it will turn into the new Opening Day doesn't make much sense.
