  1. Lots of Pittsburgh fans want to move on, at least prior to yesterday’s big win they did. It’s possible the team and tomlin part ways. I doubt it, but it’s possible he’d be available if Pittsburg again falters down the stretch.
  2. I would love Tomlin as head coach. I’d hate trading picks for him. that being said, I’ve been saying for a while that the McCaskeys are dying to be the Mara or Rooney families. They are jealous of the relative stability, mostly by Pittsburgh, of these blue blood organizations. They want to have one head coach for 20 years and be done with the constant churn. I could see them go for this if they fail to recruit Belichik
  3. Cairo Santos signed to extension, 4/16. Seems like a fairly appropriate contract for a good but not great kicker.
  4. Hell no. The only way you trade out from 1:1 is if you get a blow you away offer. There has to be more picks there. You have to assume you’d be picking outside the top ten in 2025, and if you’re still looking for your qb, you will then be pressured to trade up. now, if you actively dislike both QBs this year, then maybe you settle for that deal. But I have a hard time thinking they’ll pass on taking an again when they already missed on Stroud.
  5. Trade fields if you get a 2nd hold onto him if you don’t. I have no interest in bringing in an outside veteran qb. I don’t have any hope that fields will be the guy. But I do believe he’s good enough to be a quality backup. Somebody that can win you a game or two and be generally competent over a stretch. if he was on the jets they’d be a playoff team.
  6. If he actually believes that Fields is better than the rookies and they do move on, he could view this summer as his last best leverage, since he might expect production to go down with a rookie. That being said, he may not actually believe that and could view it as an opportunity to get himself an even bigger deal after 2024 season.
  7. Another random win against a top team. 3-2 over Colorado, with a rare Lukas Reichel goal and a couple assists for Bedard.
  8. What? im saying people have a weird narrative about bagent and his supposed success against 4 bad teams, which also coincided with the offensive line being fully intact for the first time. The offense sucked under his watch, and it’s sucked for most of fields time. I’m not sure what a jury would need to see, but the defendant does have a right to a closing argument. And by rule, the games still have to be played
  9. They don’t have a 2nd, so it’s only one of the two firsts or a 3rd. I wouldn’t refer to the 3rd as day one.
  10. I’m gonna need to see some receipts. That’s a very “seems like” claim. They beat up on Vegas then the offense did nothing against the saints chargers or panthers. Three of those fours teams Bagent faced have fired their head coach this year. Both wins were against sub .500 teams, and in only one did the offense participate in a meaningful way. Fields still has the only win against a good team. They beat a .500 team, but the offense didn’t have anything to do with it. The offense was also much more impactful in a handful of other games. People like to say this offense worked better with Bagent and I don’t know why they think that’s true. The offense was not good in three of four games.
  11. The words consensus and several are doing a lot of work here. There is no point of moving on from Fields until after the season. The ideal scenario coming into the season was Fields taking a big step, if not a leap, forward and the Bears set up to draft whomever they wanted with Carolina’s pick. That hasn’t happened and isn’t going to happen. But there are still games to be played.
  12. $7m between two guys combined is not an investment. That’s peanuts in this game.
  13. The jinx of the dipshit security guy
  14. He will be directly involved in hiring the guy that does. And if we know one thing, it’s that flus has a bad track record of hiring coaches
  15. The lowly bears host the lowlier cardinals on Christmas Eve and its a late afternoon start for some reason. Most of the country will be watching Dolphins/Cowboys. The bears are probably due for an offensive touchdown or two and Fields may give the true believers a last glimmer of hope. Chicago is favored by 4.5. Carolina will have already played by the time this game starts. The draft implications will be discussed quite a bit in this game. A real, losers win situation.
  16. Holy horsefeathers how did I miss this “my dick ain’t the smallest I swear” competition?
  17. Didn’t see any of this one but sounds like fields really clarified the future. the nightmare scenario of poles trading up for a qb and ebeflus returning is still in play, but hope that goes away soon.
  18. This is really dumb .
  19. My first reaction is no way, but I think that’s dumb and a no brainer to say yes. It’s a shame Fields would have no use to them, since they’d presumably get a qb with the first. You’d have to try and get a second somehow for him.
  20. I’m not sure I buy the CEO type. His DC was ousted and so was a rb coach. And they haven’t been able to line up a succession plan. The biggest job going into 2022 was finding a way to get the most out of Fields, and that clearly hasn’t happened. They have rebounded nicely but that seems to be more about his defensive coordinating than leading the organization.
  21. Yeah. I assume 2-2 one way shape or form. Also agree that going from an intentional tank 3 win season to 7 will be justification by them to keep Eberflus, especially with a GB win. but goddamn, if Eberflus stays, who the hell is mentoring the incoming QB to start his career? This has disaster written all over it.
